I had a bike for 4 years that was cheap and over 40-45lbs.... I now have a bike in the low 30s (when you add everything on etc).... My highest jumps came with the heavy bike. But now Im starting to get use to the drop out on this pro bike, I'm getting back to those heights.

36 year old dude here. I've always wanted to be able to cruise around and bunny hop over sewer caps and on to curbs but found it endlessly frustrating. Best tutorial on RU-vid - still took me a hot minute, but the tip to focus my balance on my back wheel was what made it *click*. Thanks a lot for this one.

If you don't have a BMX friend just set up your cell phone/camera/potato to record video, do a few practice attempts, then go retrieve it and re-watch the video. Found out I wasn't getting my front tire *nearly* as high as I thought I was.

You are my HERO !! I watched a lot of videos on how to Bunny Hop and I practice the whole week but no success. After I watched this video I make my first Bunny Hop in 15 min. Keep your wrist flat was the part I was missing. Thank you very much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for this. The differences in hops between 7:18 and 7:21 is where I'm at now. I finally started to semi consistently add the spring in last night because of that part of this video.

49 and just started riding again after a 13 year hiatus. Had box jumps and mini ramps in my yard in 2008... Ran slam bars with 6-7 " rise and had long rear end....loved mid school street...there are too many confusing geometries in todays bmx bikes for me to find something that is comfortable for all disciplines of riding. -dirt , street , park and a little flatland. I liked to ride everything back then with just one bike. Now its as if street bikes have short rear ends and steep head tubes but are horrible on dirt jumps... Bikes that are made for park riding have too long of rear ends and relaxed head tub angles making it difficult for the occasional flatland riding. Heh , for me It seems like picking out the perfect bike is just as difficult as relearning how to hop high again. Thanks for the helping hand in that aspect though.😁

@@AirdBMX that’s the only trick I know, I gave up after three months of my first somewhat good bmx bike I used to ride before that on Walmart bikes and figuring buyin a better bike would help and it didn’t and I gave up it been three years since I tried a 180 the bunny hop was only thing I was ok at

Hey dude, love the content as usual. I like your new windmuff or whatever those are called for your mic, much better recording than the old camcorder mic you used to roll with. I spent over an hour practicing yesterday and got way better at the hop, only thing I have to do is get that "push the bike out" part where you lift the back tire.. It's more like a manual-hop, in practicing I actually got WAAY better at manuals (can't really hold them, that'll be a different practice session). Thanks for the tips!

The trick for back wheel is like just put all yur weight on the front and just push yur toes forward and also suck in yur legs to,lift the wheel up

@Aird bmx bro i learned how to lift my front wheel then back wheel next, because of you! You were so generous and so detailed about your instructions. Unlike other selfish riders who dont reveal the secret. And the secret is "placing the real wheel under your butt" and putting body weight slightly backwarks, like a quick manual! Thanks for the accurate instructions AirdBmx! My bunnyhop is not that high right now but i managed to have my nose heavy. Thats how i can tell im doing it right. @@azharborhan5406I'm 48 & just bought a Sunday EX loaded with aftermarket components, so I can't blame it on a "crappy bike" if I can't land a trick, which even though I'm rusty after 25 years, I'm already Bunn hopping, dropping into bowls, ledge slides & a few other pretty simple tricks, but I noticed my right ankle hurts sometimes when I land a bunny hop, so trying to find out what I'm doing wrong

Man thanks for all the info, I was into box when I was 10-12 years old, then one day, I got robbed by three cowards with a gun.....fast forward to today, I got 11 years in the Army, turned a photographer and have two daughters, which my oldest is learning how to ride her bicycle...so dad (me) when I got me a redline 24 bmx race bike to ride with her and get back to my roots....BMX....I was trying bunny hopping today and after seeing your video I realized my mistakes (which you showed) so now, we’re heading to the park to bunny hop

I used to BMX when i was a kid and im just getting back into it. i find these videos help get into the right mindset this dude is so chill and calm about everything. +1 sub. I feel like if he got maybe just a little bit better of a camera and added more blooper clips and cutaways , this channel could make it big like past 1M subs. His tips truly work.

i was struggling to get the rear wheel up for ages, and what a lot of these tutorials don’t tell you is that you need to make sure you’re grabbing your handlebars right, if you’re holding it kinda loose then it doesn’t go up as much, maybe it’s obvious to most people but that was my mistake going into it
