I read the book in fifth grade it was eye opening as a black 10-11 year old and I also watched the movie and the video you played which is apart of the movie opens my eyes even more I’m now in seventh grade
Sad thing is the hate you give wasnt the only movie or book that talked about this there was Detroit, when they see us, and so many others and people only talk about it when it's trending and say they support us black people but look at everything now it's all quiet and people are still dying for no reason. It's really a sad society to live in Im Black and I'm proud. I went on a vacation with a friends family when I was 5 and my mom and dad sat me down together they were never even married and barely talk like friends but they told me what I need to do when I was out don't wander off, keep my hands out of my pockets and don't look around they had to tell me that even though I was a kid that people don't care and I can still die. I'm 14 bout to be 15 now and I'm having to tell my 5 and 6 year old cousins this life really is fucked up smh.
I agree I would love too go protest but my mom would never allow me and im not gonna act like I feel your pain because I could never feel what you feel being scared 24/7 I'm trying my hardest to at least try my best to stop this...but im only 11 I dont hold much power
There is not one person on earth who deserves this, it dosn't matter if they are black, white or any other color, they are humans, made out of flesh, bones and blood, we are all the same yet different, and we schould be able to not hurt our own kind. But then there are other times where. You have to risk things like this, but its worth it. This world is the most beautiful thing in the universe. This made me cry... Why? Why should black people have to go through this? Why should black people have to constantly live in fear and terror just because of their skin color? Why should we have to protest and fight for their rights when they are human beings just like the rest of us?! I've watched that movie and it was really good for telling people about how black people having to go thru all of this stuff and how they have to live in fear and not us.
for me, i shouldnt and dont want to wake up lucky that i have privilege for being white. I know how it feels to be hurt or ridiculed for something I cannot control, as i am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, i know it isnt the same, but we're also oppressed. I just want everyone to be equal and let other people be happy, i'm sick and tired of seeing people dying for no reason. I hear people calling me fag as a joke or someone calling their black friend the N word. I'm sick and tired of it. Our world is truly twisted.

If your nice to them most of the time there nice to you so ya thats what i was told to do and its worked out for my parents and they have no problem.

I cried when watching this, like full-on balling my eyes out when my um was sleeping. The reason why I want to be a cop when I'm older is to stop this not prevent it. And to know that my own skin tone will do this type of stuff is just unbelievable.
I was crying my eyes out this whole video then my mom walks in and says "the cop from George Floyds Murder was arrested, they had a fair trial". I was still crying but i felt a but better.

I taught myself this Never talk back when black, never wear a jacket with your hood up, never take out your ID without permission, never put your hands in your pockets, never look around, never look out your window, never go outside at night, never let a cop see an object in your hands, never ever be alone when you are black I taught myself this when I was in kindergarten I never wandered off without my parents because I felt that I would be shot dead as if I was seen as a mass murderer that was being looked for I never looked at someone for the sole purpose of being look at as "suspicious" I would wear jackets outside, but never with my hood up I would never talk back, the last time I did that I was put in a cage for a week I never put my hands in my pockets, only at home I could never do that at school because I would be labeled as a school shooter I never looked out my window, my uncle was shot for doing so I never tried going outside because I felt that I was going to be shot I never looked around, that's how my niece died I would never pick something up I would never go out at night I would never be me I can't be me.. Not if I'm black
Here’s one that really helped me out When you drive and a cop pulls you over, put one hand out the window where he can see it and one on the roof. If you want, put the other hand on the steering wheel instead. Never reach into the glove compartment or glovebox for your license/ID (that is if you didn’t get it before he came up to you) unless you ask for permission
I'm a white woman who believes black people have rights I would have been in all of the protests if I was rich and wasnt in a very small town without these protests. All of the black people who died, died knowing someday their rights WILL come. I BELIEVE IN JUSTICE FOR ALL NOT JUST WHITE PEOPLE BLACK PEOPLE TOO!

Am black but my skins kinda looks wire but all my other family members are black BLM stop hating were all the same sure we like different stuff but that doesn't mean we get to treat other wrong every one the same at the end of the day no one's different you might have different taste in clothing makeup business carter ect but that doesn't change eny thing we respect and love others and not juj them for who they are and treat other how you want to be treated
It's just sad how people of color still get treated like this today based on their race, Black people deserve better and throughout watching this I was tearing up like fr not in a dramatic way but I can't believe the world we live in has a disgusting side of racism towards people of color.
I give my respect to those people that were fighting for their own rights and culture because who are we to judge other people and who are others to judge us just remember that respect goes both ways

I broke down crying in my room because this reminded me of the guy that was shot by the cop a few months back... This needs to stop NOW. They need to stop assuming blacks have weapons!
I'd really recommend watching the movie this clip is from, my English teacher showed it to my class a while back, it's a really well made movie, and goes into some pretty dark topics, but it talks about important issues with society.

I was in a junior police academy when I was 14 and the first thing they told me and everyone else when you get pulled over don't reach out for anything because at that point the officer can draw he's weapon and open fire because they told us it's your life or their's so the officer and the driver were in the wrong the officer should have only shot once and the driver should have not picked up anything
I am not black but my best friend was black and got discriminated by almost everyone and one day got wrongly expelled after a racist teacher got her expelled, she was the kindest person i have ever known and had to move and got no justice, I have never seen her since.this is why I hate people, also I moved schools because my parents hated the school after that

It hurts so much to see what they go through as people but no one treats them as people they just treat them like their "dangerous" When real they're just afraid cause their different and not like them. It irritates me cause they don't deserve this and never deserved it..
This reminded me of when I was watching a video the other day and someone commented something about the video and out of nowhere said it was stupid like the BLM movement. I immediately was on that like “NO WAY did you just say that. Get your facts straight,” people just need to grow up and realize that everyone is different in there own way but a certain group of people don’t need to be treated that way. We’re all human beings.
