Love this from my hometown. My grandma grew up near the railroad tracks during the Depression and hobos used to hop off and come into town looking for work. My great-grandpa couldn't hire anyone for money, but sometimes had them do odd jobs for meals. There were other times, they just invited them to their house for dinner. With a family of 14 they were struggling, but Grandma said they always could make room for one or two more.
