Great Video. I visited and rail fanned Livingston back in 1990 when most trains where BN Green and Black SD 40-2s and MRL did major rebuilds and repairs in their shops there. Your video brought back great memories. Looking forward to Part 2.

Totally agree. I haven't found too many examples on RU-vid, but I figured out that's what a GEVO sounds like with a turbo imbalance/imperfection. There's another video of that locomotive (BNSF 6271) howling in notch 8, and it's a great show too.

Would be really nice to see the helpers cut off on the fly, if you ever get a chance to go back.... Take a look at the equipment at 36:54 on 4407....there is a cable that pulls the pin off of the coupler when the helper is finished...supposedly this happens while the rear end of the train and the helpers are moving .....

+RR Videos I was actually hoping on shooting the helpers getting hooked on. I rode my bike to the other side of town too... Unfortunately no trains came for an extremely long time so I went back home.

+Charj x I think they still are. They have the SD45's on a deadline sitting just outside the yard. I rode my bike there and took a few pictures of them.

I love the MRL SD45s for some reason I heard they were going to be rebuilt into, well, I don't remember and the F40phs will be scrapped
