This is how we treat the very people who are advocating on our behalf. I believe the most difficult assignment on the planet is the repair and resurrection of the black man and woman.
This is a word. All you can do is pray for people like Dr. Umar. I say all the time he has an impossible task. Advocating for Blacks, trying to promote a sense of Black pride, & trying to educate Blacks. As a majority, Black people reject education-the one thing that will give them leverage & the ability to think for themselves. They depend on oppressors to think & educate them.🤦🏽♀️

@@Tribechat-NzuriKabila This reminds me of a segment from 1619 project: this segment spoke about black music and America's adoption of it. In particular they spoke about how producers would try to make songs that sounded like songs black people listened to. As a result you had black artist making music to sound like what they thought white people thought that black people liked (brain twister, read it twice). I say that to say that we assume black people can't have civil discourse because that's all they ever tell us and we internalize and believe it to be true so we begin to behave like it's true. It's not!, we're more than what they've portrayed on TV

The operative word was intelligent. The people that resort to disrespect, name calling, and insults are the ones that don't have the vocabulary to articulate their points.
Dr. Umar is not wrong about the facts of sexual abuse/molestation being the major issue for homosexuality within our Communities and others. I know because as a healthcare provider, I ask the same questions and get the same responses regarding this prepubescent trauma. You can't argue with truth 🔥🙏🏾
Homosexuality is not caused by sexual abuse/molestation. I'm gay and have never been sexually abused or molested, and that's the case with a lot of homosexuals. There are millions of ppl who have been sexually abused/molested who are heterosexual.
This is pure ignorance that Umar spews. Plenty of people suffered sexual abuse (females/males) who are not LBGT. This is yet another example of Umar's destructive rhetoric based on what? Only Umar's ignorance.
@@speaktruthpeace1612 Dr Eric Dyson, Dr Cornell West, Maya Angelou, Booker T Washington is BLACK BRILLIANCE. Umar Johnson is a con man. He is scamming the black community.
Who is this commentator, once they start talking about rape he’s putting words in his mouth, he’s saying allow it it be a trial before media plays black man as an felon.
Lamont Hill. A blackman who got yanked off of CNN and castrated by the Euro power structure because he condemned the treatment of human beings over in Israel. They labeled him a antisemite for critizing how Jews were treating palestenians. So he knows first hand what Umar is talking about how they paint a BM as enemy number one just for being a man speaking your mind.
Omg this guy is a poor conman. He's a financial conman. I mean if it was 1960's I'd be down for him but I've never heard him for any length wherein I don't disagree with him.
Notes: 1. There was a school. The buildings he bought were a school. Currently it's just a property in disrepair. It's not a school currently . 2. The interviewer admits to donating to The school. This is an outright conflict of interest. 3. You don't buy a large scale building or buildings to develop them into a complex and know nothing about the state of air conditioning , lights etc. No one forced this guy to buy this property. 4. Kevin Samuels didn't slander this guy. He just made light of him after callers told him "talk like Umar". 5. Johnson has bashed single mothers for years and now he wants to pivot and blame others for attitudes.
And he's helping with that? He has children he doesn't even take care of. He can't even see his one daughter without the supervision of the state of Pennsylvania because he hasn't paid child support in years. He's a poor example of an African American Man. He's full of shit, do your research.
@@speaktruthpeace1612 no it's public information. Pennsylvania child support enforcement cases are public. His Baby Momma has nothing to do with any of this. Do your research and stop being lazy. If your leader Umar isn't delinquent on his child support why does he not have a job in which they can extract money for his arrears? He's a disgraced former school employee and he's never been a principal or vice principal. He was fired from his last official job in 2006 for misdiagnosing of children for his personal profit. All of this is open to state records look it up. His real legal name is Jermaine Shoemake. Not Umar Johnson
Dr. Umar may be a little quacky, but goddamn he was 100% spot on and handled that interview well. ESPECIALLY the correlation of sexual abuse & sexual orientation. I’ve seen it myself, and it needs to finally be addressed.
I heard him speak on it somewhere & he gave a deep psychological collection & tied it to white theorists that blew my mind. I had to look it up. He was spot on! I was like damn...
I agree. There was a time when homosexuals' rhetoric was just that; that they were abused as children. Now their rhetoric is that "they were born that way!" As the Irish so eloquently say, "That's rubbish!"
obviously the people he worked with experienced trauma and was in need of Pychological help, but the fact is there are many homosexuals in all walks of life that have accomplished and achieved great things in music , art, the military and science and so on, and are well adjusted human being. Dr. Johnson's findings only deals with those who are have been traumatized. We must based those finding in trying to prove the dysfunctionality or the perversion of homosexual orientation. That is just insane, and appeals to homophobic misinformation and the distortion of the reality, which homophobic people are not interested in of course, and only looking for things which justify and confirm their own bias
@@thenubianspeaks4329 Great points. I guess we'd have to see some stats on sexual abuse rates among people who seek mental therapy for trauma, regardless of sexual orientation, to even begin to try to draw the conclusion that Dr. Johnson does. He did not state, at least not here, what percentage of "heterosexuals" who sought his counsel experienced sexual abuse. Another problem is whether he distinguishes between lesbians and gay men. When he speaks of gay men who were sexually abused, were they basically abuse by other males, females, or is it more or less 50/50? If it's mostly by males, and that is what makes the abused male "turn gay," then does it work the same for lesbians? Were they also mostly abused by men? If so, wouldn't they also become sexually oriented toward men, the same as with the gay men? Or, were lesbians mostly sexually abused by other women, which is what made them "turn" lesbian? There is just so much that doesn't line up with his theory. Granted I have not seen his study or report, but unless he answers those questions, among others, the conclusion is likely erroneous, IMO.
Interesting, Ugh. Despite what Dr. Umar Johnson says about homosexuality, sexual abuse isn't a trigger for inherent homosexuality, biology is, and it's not controversial to state. There are inherent heterosexuals who exclusively practice homosexuality due to repeated same-gender sex abuse. And the majority of their abusers are heterosexual. With the help of competent mental health professionals, they can recover their heterosexuality. When homosexuality was the topic on his YT channel, I've often, and respectfully, challenged Dr. Johnson's falsehoods via the comment section. In addition to what I've already stated here, the good doctor has claimed that homosexuality is essentially a non-African phenomenon. I've rebutted that noting most Africans today have internalized the behavior of their former Arab and European masters who bought Islam and Christianity, respectively, to bear on what heretofore was an acceptance of same-gender loving (SGL) individuals. Within various African ethnic groups, the acceptance included: recognizing SGL members have two-spirits, ying & yang / male & female, a "double-consciousness" which was often used for counseling others, and settling disputes, for example; allowing marriage -- some unions didn't involve sex for being more concerned with strengthening economic, family and/or clan ties, for instance; cross-dressing; practicing bisexuality in general; practicing bisexuality until marriage (many such relationships endured regardless); and others considered SGL members a matter of fact, a part of life like, so what? Their colonial masters undermined those practices, and extinguished much of the vibrancy of African cultures and traditions in general. It's time to recover these memories noting Africa, "the cradle of human civilization," had it right from the beginning: HOMOPHOBIA IS UN-AFRICAN. With due respect. (2.11.22)

Thanks for clarifying. I was thinking, so now he's building more schools. Figured he had already built at least one school. Remember him talking about this almost a decade ago.

I don’t understand why he doesn’t have project managers and others doing this for him. Good interview. I wish it was longer. Hill was trying way too hard to have him address controversy. The Breakfast Club interview was great because they kept it positive.
I disagree. Hill was doing his job as a journalist. Interviews aren't supposed to be just acknowledging and agreement. Plus, Lennard is not a serious person. Breakfast club holds back the smartest person, Yee. This was great journalism. BNC is on its way up.
@@blizardfingers3590 I agree, I’ve been watching BNC and they’re on the right track. That’s why I was surprised. I thought Hill was too focused on ‘why don’t people like you’, which is valid. I just think less focus on that could’ve made for a better interview. The interview was good though.

This was just not enough time, and I think this was a solid conversation between 2 scholars whereas I feel Dr. Umar has not had many venues of fair expression of his points. It’s unfortunate we only could get 20 min of this dialogue. Well done, well curated. It’s good he was able to get out the updates on the school on a platform I’m sure many of the doubting Black folks who magically know what it takes to build institutions are following. It would’ve been nice if he was also able to expound on that last subject, as, essentially, they both were in agreement on what the freedom of accountability, justice and equity look like; that’s basically what “keep that same energy” means... if we’re going to do this for one set, do it for all and show that justice is truly not blind.

I just wish Dr. Umar would recognize the war on black CHILDREN in the schools. My high school has a "special Ed" or "LD and BD" class and out of the about 12 students in there, only 4 were boys 2 in which had actual disabilities. All the kids were black. In elementary there was a white boy with actual autism was put in a class with everyone else but a black girl with same diagnosis would cry to not ba in the class with the "special needs" class but that is were she needed to be even though she function better than the white boy. They (adults rather it be teachers or officers) are getting more and more physical with our young girls in these schools.
