Bo Rinehart, founding member of NeedToBreathe, shares story of sexual abuse, encourages counseling 

Bo, thank you so much for speaking out and sharing your story. My wife was a victim, she kept the secret for a ling time and carried the pain her entire life. When she finally was able to share the truth, her family didnt believe her. It was devastating to her. She passed away from cancer rwo months ago. My life's mission now is to help in any way i can. I admire your courage. I was a huge fan of your music but now im a bigger fan of you.

I was about 55 before I was able to tell anyone. The abuse I had was physical and mental, me my brothers and my sister received the abuse.i was a drunk by 11 years old a drug addict by 18. What I didn't realize was that my dad was a victim of his dad. I'm thankful to God that I was able to forgive my dad before he passed away. Yea the abuse took a lot more of my life than it deserved. Life is 15 % what happens to you and 85% what you do with it. That was wisdom from a dear friend. Get help if you are abused tell someone outside the circle of your abuse. And God bless you Brother Bo for coming forward.

I actually had this question in my head when I first heard that he left the band. It pains me to know that my suspicion was true. I am so happy Bo is healing and am happy that there are organizations out there that truly help. My heart goes out to those who are still healing and those still stuck. God bless you

I can’t listen to NEEDTOBREATHE anymore cause it just makes me so sad. I loved Bear & Bo together and I hope they can heal if they have anything between them. Their music formed my young adulthood and I loved what they made together. Hope they’re happy where they are now though, new seasons can be hard.

Bo I was abuse from baby hood my oldest daughter is my daddy's daughter I looked at my youngest daughter that way for scared and ran to my friend for help she got me in counseling it broke the chain had son's didn't touch them that way taught all my children what to look for and what to do

Bo I was sexually abused at 6 also by my mothers sisters husband and the shame that comes through that is crippling. Thank God The Father for Jesus and setting us free and restoring our innocence. Write a song about how our innocence was restored supernaturally.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. The statistics are not as good as 1/10. Closer to 1/2 women and 1/3 men abused before 18. I was victimized and an a survivor myself! I love sharing my story but I haven’t as publicly yet as you have for the media world. Praise God and thank you for using your voice to share - especially as a male, it is Much harder for males
