BLACK OPS 4 ZOMBIES IX SHIELD UPGRADE GUIDE!

►HUGE thank you to u/TheH8EDPanda for originally solving and getting the community to hunt for the exact steps!
Written Guide:
•Obtain the Brazen Bull normally via the 3 buildable parts at The Pit Build table
•Shoot the three bulls heads in the top of the Zeus Altar Room
•Shoot down the piece of ceiling in the PaP room
•Kill a Water, Electric and Poison catalyst zombie with the Brazen Bull out in quick succession: this can be achieved by shooting a charged shot of the Death of Orion at the zombies, pulling your shield out and meleeing the zombies.
•Obtain the second upgrade piece from the statue at the exit of the bottom floor of Zeus. (Right as you exit blood bath it is almost right in front of you)
•Kill a Tiger, Brawler and Gladiator in the same fashion as the former step with the catalyst zombies. Again, this can be achieved by charging a shot of the Death of Orion at the 3 different zombie types to chain them together, then bring your shield out and melee them.
•Shoot the 3rd shield piece from the 1st mystery box placement in fallen hero.
•Return to table and upgrade to Iron Bull

If this is not working for you, but you need to upgrade the shield here are the correct steps: 1. Build the Brazen Bull. 2. Shoot the 3 bull heads in the Zeus Altar Room ---> Shoot down the sparkling part from the ceiling of the Temple and pick it up. 3. You need to kill 4 special enemies (catalyst zombies, Brawlers and Gladiators NOT TIGERS) while you have 8 kills in your shield's blade. This means when you kill the special zombie your blade start flaming. You need to do this 4 times (so just like I said 4 special zombie kills to ignite the blade). This not need to be done on 1 round or in quick session. Between these kills break your shield to stop the flaming effect. If you did it correctly you can pick up the second part from the broken statue in the Odin & Zeus Tower Entrance. 4. You need to kill a Brawler, a Tiger and a Gladiator with the flaming blade of the shield. Not in quick session and not on 1 round just kill these 3 with the flaming blade ----> Shoot down the sparkling part from the doorway of the Fallen Hero and pick it up. 5. Go to the shield and pick up the Iron Bull! 🔮

Can you explain a little better... There are 6 circles on the shields blade yeah? Does the final kill before the shield flames up have to be a special zombie? Or do you kill a special zombie WHILE your shield is in flames?

Thank you soooo much my dude. Literally the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in a zombie game. I spent 20 rounds and almost three hours just on step two!!! Holy F! Was it worth it? Absolutely not. Am I proud of myself? Immensely. Ty. You got a new subscriber my man. Ugh. Going to sleep now....

2024: The true steps as this isnt how you get the upgraded shield anymore Step 1: Acquire shield then shoot the 3 bull heads in zeus temple as he showed then get the part this step remains the same Step 2: Ignite your blade with 4 different special enemies (any catalyst, gladiators and brawlers). This means getting 8 normal zombie kills and on the 9th make sure the kill is on the special enemy. Collect part from broken statue in fourth Step 3. Kill a tiger, brawler and gladiator with an ignited blade. This can be done in any order and doesnt have to be done in quick succession. Get part from same place the go to shield bench. None of these kills need to be in quick succession i did part 2 over a span of 5 rounds and got the part. Hope this helps people today

For the Zeus tower shield piece, it is not in the top floor statue's hand - it's at the bottom of the statue (at the feet)

The game classifies both the butcher and muruarder as Gladiators btw. Nowhere are the call brawlers. Also man its Cryo catalyst not water, that zombie freezes the heads to make headshits harder and if you shoot a zombie affected by a Cryo catalyst with a Cryofreeze elemental weapon it'll freeze the zombie to walk slower

And a side note you need 4 different for the 2ed step and all special zombies count expect for the tiggers. And you have to have the special zombie as the kill that sets your blade on fire.

@@zeelat9648 that would be dark matter camo, and that developes spikes instead of fire. and also the scorpion is burning so it can't be a camo, since you can't apply camos to wonderweapons. i guess it's an effect of some sort, maybe from the fire-immunity easter egg

Just wanted to help here, the first person to actually solve this was the youtube account dhel he posted a tutorial how to do this on October 14th, super early, his steps varied from yours but he could be wrong. His varied in to get the statue part you had to down yourself in the pap room, bleed out completely and then it would be in its hand, and the part near the mystery box would just be there right after to be shot down, check out his tutorial, hoped this helped thanks.

Eric Hull As a solo player, you get blue screens later on in the game, but Treyarch fixed early blue screens, haven‘t got one in days

I'm thinking they'll probably change the Catalyst Zombie step at some point due to the heavy RNG reliance. What they'll change it to I have no idea, or they might simply reduce the requirements to "any 3 catalyst zombies in quick succession", which would be less difficult than "3 unique catalyst zombies in quick succession".

@@1rasit Train a horde, shoot them with the serket, then quickly switch to another weapon, the kills will then count towards that weapon. this is a nice way to level weapons because most guns will run out of ammo fast but serket kills so many with so few rounds that its very efficient.

I think you can upgrade a 3rd time as the knife thing with sheild has 3 sets of lights and when you upgraded it it had 2 sets light up not all 3

Why don’t you show a single instance where you actually kill the catalyst and proceed to the unlocking of the new pieces...?? All your editing could easily be argued as false instructions. You don’t show a single sequence without cutting or editing of video.

Shoot yellowish metal support plates on water tower after finishing with magmagat kills. 2 from roof. 1 of them on roof is hard to see. 2 from catwalk.

So like my third game of IX I walked by that statue and it said hold square to pick up and told this to friends, only one got the hold square we were looking at the floor I thought it was a glitch but I think when we were messing with the shield we accidentally did it. I have been curious what the hold square was and to know is entertaining.

Why are all youtubers calling them easter eggs? They are just weapon upgrades lol. Getting the staffs in origins has never been called an "easter egg"

Easter eggs are hidden things inside the game. This weapon upgrade is hidden therefore it’s an Easter egg. Origins staffs are much less of an Easter egg because the developers tried to make it more obvious as how you made them.

Cuz anything intentionally hidden within the game can be considered an easter egg, that's why they call the story easter eggs "easter eggs" in the first place
