How BoA is so strong. She started very young. Many other people who started in entertainment industry young swing away, lost themselves when reality/maturity hits. Got dirty scandal, and from love getting hate. But Queen BoA eventho alone but still strong, humble and dance her wholeheartedly everytime.
endless[3cho] In the beginning of her career she had to suffer from sabotagers. There might not be any hate on sns nowadays, but she got a lot of hate in the past. Back then in 2000s there were a lot of koreans hated japan, even more than nowadays. Since boa was made to debut in japan, the haters united & planned to sabotage her. She suffered from a lot of hate because of that. Her debut in japan was a huge success but she felt as if she was more welcomed in japan than in her home country. She said she hoped to get the same popularity in Korea as in Japan. Thankfully when she went back to korea her popularity raised a lot.
Stop shaming young people you know nothing about who have social media, more competition, and don’t get the reputation of being the first to make them more protected. Everyone’s situations will very and that doesn’t make anyone bad or better
" I'm here after the news that Red Velvet will cover this song " And yes everyone were here because of the same reason (and ofc because of BoA too) 🤣 Hello luvies 😘
@@WOW-wo8gl BoA is a female solo artist under SM company She debuted when she was only 13 with the song No.1 She is one of those artists in KPOP who paved the way for the next generations She is the one who started off in Japan as a Successful K artist If your favorite idol is promoting in Japan then it's most likely becoz of BoA It has been 20 years since she debuted but still she's going strong and many have high respect for her The ones who started off with the similar age with her and the same time with her retired, disbanded, not going successfully, or in a long haitus But BoA still be going as the REAL QUEEN OF KPOP She mainly paved the way for girl artists in kpop Many SM company artists are covering her past songs like for a gift to her for her 20th anniversary Our dear BoA
boa's version is more like a romcom from 2000s movie or tv show soundtrack and red velvet's is more like chilly and bossa nova vibes, but both are so pretty in their ways
Red Velvet did a cover of No. 1 by the legend BOA before. Now, they will cover this. 😭 BOA's songs are iconic. I love her songs, I'm glad my favorite group will cover her song. She's legendary.
I'm here as a redvelvet fan, I'm hearing this for the first time, and it's a bop! Imagine hearing this when it was released, people probably had this song on 24/7. You'll really see why idols/artists admire her. She's so talented even up to this date
It was a great time to be a fan when she released “Atlantis Princess”. The entire album is full of bops along with some beautiful ballads. Years pass by and we’re still not worthy of her talent! And I bet RV will do an amazing rendition of this song
All of the hype for her 20th anniversary has been giving me a lot of nostalgia. I started listening to her music in high school when she debuted, most of my circle of friends was into JPOP at the time but this "KPOP" star was so endearing. Today she is still making wonderful music, she is beyond beautiful and she is the true Queen of KPOP!
BoA is the only constant I've had since I was 14. I discovered her from Inuyasha and stuck with her. Atlantis Princess was my first song I heard besides Every Heart and I just am so intrigued by her. I love everything she does. I'm currently going through a phase where I listen to it a lot lately. She's been there through happy times and sad times. BoA is so influential and a queen.
I came here after getting that the song Red Velvet sang was originally a Boa's song! I already liked the cover of Red Velvet, but this original version makes me like Milky Way even more!!!! I'm a loyal reveluv and I think no one could have covered it better than rv who are one of the best artists of the new generations! But this mv, this song and Boa make me feel very nostalgic and I'm not even a fan of Boa. I just think that there was this time at least a decade ago where everything was simpler, life wasn't full of those new problems, life wasn't that stressing and that complex. People were just living, they were happy and everything was easier I hope this time will come back soon ❤
this could have been from a western artist too. in fact now kpop artists use a lot of influences from genres that western artists wouldnt use while this song is just straight up early 2000s pop. so really a lot of modern stuff is more unique than this. i still love this song but its totally mainstream.
@Bet KARD I get what you mean, but your kind of wrong Korean music and Western music from the late 90s and early 2000s use the same sounds and have similar styles and yes it’s becoming more like that again now. The only time in the modern kpop/ Korean music scene where the music was very different from western music was most of the 2nd Generation artists songs (like the kpop from in between 2009 - 2016) that’s when everything was different.
I've been a fan of kpop and jpop for nearly 20 years now. It has evolved, at least in kpop. Jpop, for better or worse has pretty much stayed the same. However, I got into BoA because IT WAS different from what I was able to listen to here in the US and I got tired of radio stations. So, no, it wasn't the same, but it does have its influence and it's easy to see. Kpop just injected something different, a different feel and I was immediately hooked the moment I head BoA's ID Peace B way back when. But as much as mainstream kpop is now (you can only imagine I had NOBODY but a friend of mine I could talk kpop with as NOBODY around me even knew anything about it), I think it is good for kpop. You still have your genres in kpop that you can listen to. You have bands like Blackpink and BTS who give more of a western feel, you have Red Velvet that gives off something unique, and Twice who still gives me that older kpop feel I came to enjoy. Even newer groups like Elris and Dreamcatcher has a 2000s vibe to me, though DC actually feels more jpop (a good thing). I just think today fans are a bit on the....how do I nicely put it...insane side. Back when no RU-vid existed and I had to download everything on various websites, I feel younger new fans take what we have for granted. Now I'm being nostalgic, sorry. Also, to add, because kpop is western influence it always has been written by a both western and eastern collaborators. That has never changed. Anywho, I think kpop is better today than it was back then, coming from someone who loves being nostalgic, just because the vast amount of access and groups we have and it's popularity pushes writers to keep pushing themselves for the better. There actually isn't a better time to be into it than today. Thanks and apologies my message is so long. Have a great day.
i don’t know why this got recommended to me but maybe because i’ve been binge-watching red velvet’s videos lately hahahahahha. i can already hear them singing this 😭
you guys are just excited about red velvet and not realized what's the reason for this cover..anyway~ *BOA* *happy* *20th* *anniversary* thank you for all your hardwork, kpop now are dominating world!! you are the OG of kpop, the one and only~Queen boA
Sephora Ferjuste uhhh. i see tons of hip hop being released. not so much poppy songs anymore. its upsetting. its either the rough and cool hip hop concept or the sexy concept and its aggrivating...for a kpop fan that actually lived through the 'golden era' of kpop.
Lets face it. In recent times, Kpop has become so superficial. I feel like its all about image now and less about the quality of music. I wish Kpop could have stuck to being itself.

I've become a BoA fan in the past eight years, so I don't always understand the history. When I see this, I realize why so many people have such good memories of her from back in the day.
Wow that's awesome! And you're right, it is very nostalgic. I've been a fan of BoA since her debut 19 years ago, she is the LITERAL reason why I even got into kpop and jpop and why I still remain a fan all these years later. That's so great to see someone as well as her inspiration. I know for my younger sister and I she was everything we could share together, songs, videos, concerts etc., growing up. BoA has had a huge impact in many lives.
@@systematicallyshocked What you did for listening to her songs and watching her MV's since her debut was back then in 2000 and the RU-vid already was avaible only in 2005..?
@@tiffanyglitterizada here in Brazil, I've found back in 2004 a site caled boabrasil. com .br, where the admins posted every song and MV, they used to have even a radio 24/7 playing Boa. At that era I've got into Baby V.O.X too. So my first kpop knowledge was pre-youtube with BoA and Baby VOX. But I was already a Jpop fan, so it was easy to find communities to share stuff.
BoA is that influential in SM that they even make a whole project for her in SM STATION. She's really a queen. And I'm ready to listen how Red Velvet will cover this!
So nostalgic! I loved it back when kpop sounded this pure and optimistic!!! Watching now since this was recently released in the mobile rhythm game SM Town Superstar
