I've been using those component trays for a while now, and they're really useful (assuming they fit in the game box--sometimes the dimensions just don't work out). The trays with ridges are specifically for cards. The ridges let you get the bottom cards easily. The trays without the ridges are meant for tokens or other non-card bits. They're also designed where the different types of trays will stack on each other.
I just started making wooden resource upgrade tokens for Orleans! I’d love to send some in to you and Alex for your feedback and possibly for inclusion in a video!
I'm a fan of O-Neb but the Thonks thing has left me cold. I simply don't see why they're going loopy over the idea of ugly, giant meeples. I really wish they'd put all that effort and passion into making their next game even better.
If you watch their wormhole events, one a few years ago kind of outlined that they hope to do “collectibles” and limited product runs. They’ve got the fan base to support it, and they’re definitely pushing into the “fans of O-Neb” camp. I agree that I wish they would focus but my guess is they have too many staff and not enough games to support them income wise without stuff like Thonks.
