@@drlard_ I had a hard time with it at first too. It has a very dystopian feel that I think is well suited to what's happening now. It's since become one of my favorites.
This was always my favorite album by them... Until, hopefully, another. Album cover = San Francisco. Birth place of AI. Tomorrow's Harvest. To quote Orbital, "What would God say?" BoC direct from Deep Space Radio.
As with Campfire, this album has only grown more powerful with time. They have a great knack for layers but not too many layers. Everything is there to discover. When I first listened I thought, wow, a lot of ambience. But when you consider there are 17 tracks and break it down, there's plenty of phat-beatery going on (or however you describe phatness with some of those more retro drum samples).
Reach Out For the Dead almost kind of sounds like that Eminem Song (Kim) just with out the singing! at 5:03 "Sooo wrong!!! Bitctchhhh youuuu got me so wrong living in this world with out you !0
I think they will, soon. I recall an interview a few years ago where they were asked about their time in-between albums, one of them said: "we're always making music". I think they've just created this big pressure for themselves, plus they likely enjoy the mystique of not overdoing it. That can work for some people, for example, Luke Vibert releases a crazy amount but it doesn't seem to diminish him (wider genres covered, of course).
@@serraramayfield9230what? No you need you back to back audio of both versions to hear the difference. Nothing to do with what headphones you’re using.
I prefer this one to Campfire Headphase now. It definitely grew on me. I think pre-Geogaddi BoC is still the best BoC however. Really excited to see what the tone of their new album will be.
