Arnold Rothstein was in the narcotics business in the early 1900's he was into everything, not to mention that Charlie Lucky took a pinch for carrying "H" in his earlier years. Like the man says, uses it once and you got a customer for life, a sad but very true statement. Millions, no BILLIONS TO BE MADE from narcotics, just gotta be prepared for a long prison term in return if you get pinched.

An underrated show for sure. But they didn’t stick the landing for the conclusion. AR’s death and Luciano’s rise to power were skipped. Luciano was always seen as a hot head. AR and Meyer would speak to him as you would a rambunctious child. “Charlie, we’re here to listen.” Then BOOM! He becomes the leader of one of the worlds biggest criminal conspiracy. Maybe HBO’s way of foreshadowing the end of GOT…

Yeah it was unfortunate that HBO cancelled three of the final four seasons, but at least they let them wrap up with an abbreviated fifth season rather than just cancelling it with nothing from season four concluded.

And 20 years later Vito Corleone warned how dangerous and dirty a game the narcotics business is. He would have none of it.

Ooooooohhhhhh boy everything was good up until when Charlie Luciano said "By the way, we came to about this first" then Meyer "Outta Respect". Feel How you want about Rothstein He's too much of a smart man to not know something was up with that statement.... That was "OUT THE BLUE AND NOT NEEDED TO EVEN BRING UP" also. So what he heard was "So you've went behind my back to feel get and feelers out inn the atmosphere. Now y'all feel comfortable to come to me about it, since essentially if or when you except, the ones that didn't take or hadn't enough money to accept the deal will turn from business partners to enemies. That need to be silenced immediately, because with them still wanting in on the going thing... You'll have to get rid of your competition" Arnold night of been a pale face, dear below the waste, degenerate gambler lol but the man was smart as all get out. And he wrung person to have psychological warfare battle against.

@msKCleigh Be that as it may. This is still a great TV show. YES, Jimmy being whacked didn't need to happened. We all loved his character, but I just have my doubts that you'd abandon a show as incredible, well-written, and enticing as Boardwalk Empire. NOT trying to knock ya down just giving a little insight. You gotta admit, your reaction to the Finale is all the more proof to its in ingeniousness.
@Mr.Brewer83

Correction not all of us loved the character of Jimmy in the sense we didn't want to see him go. The second he tried to kill nucky there was no path towards anything but the end he ended up with.
@JohnnyBaboons
@JohnnyBaboons 3 года назад
@@Mr.Brewer83 yea I agree with you NOW, that Jimmy deserved what he got. When I posted this a looong time ago it was right after the season 2 finale premiered so the shock of his death was fresh at the time. As time has gone on I've liked Jimmy Less n Less. Everytime I've rewatched the series I keep yelling at how idiotic Jimmy's decisions were. A right Oedipus he was. Poor decision making from the get go. Poor poor Angela. 😕
@Mr.Brewer83
@Mr.Brewer83 3 года назад
@@JohnnyBaboons Also, again we could blame it on his unique upbringing, but his character was very entitled from the get go. Yes, he went to war saw some horrible things, did some horrible things, and served his country....but that doesn't mean he automatically gets to advance to GO and collect $200 and be given a supervising job. Nucky tells him if I recall correctly when Jimmy complains that it was his choice, nucky told him had he stayed stateside he would have had a big position lined up for him already.

They knew, he literally just said you try it once and get a customer for life, they were business men not dumb enough to do it to themselves, they put literal acid or poison in their alchohol as a cutting agent to increase profits, killing people for profit was normal, and you are dumb enough to believe they didn't know, you are correct in saying most people of the time had no idea, these two genetleman on the other hand had every fucking idea... lol
