Last answer: Given speed, x= 6km/hr (in still water) So, 6=(2a+a)/2 => a = 4. For y = (2×a-a)/2 => y= (2×4-4)/2 => y=2 I hope I'm correct....And thankyou so much sir, your tricks & concepts are really amazing.

@@dimpidubey8024 Upstream : Downstream= 2:1(time ratio) we know T=D/S Therefore speed is inversely proportional to time. So ratio of speed will be a:2a(say) X=3a/2 = 6 or,a=4 Y=a/2;Y=2(putting the value of a)

Or u can do... distance will be same. So make 2 equation make both of them equal , u simply get 2km/hr value. U.S. = D.S. 2(6-x) = 1(6+x) Solve them u get x =2km/hr

In the other 24,28 problem we can go for HCF of 24 and 30 we get up speed as 6 and on substituting we get d.speed as 14 we can continue in second identity . I think this may be a little quicker and oral way of solving. In this case we can also try for HCf 28 and 21 I e 7 it will not work out then try next multiple of 7 i.e 14 it will give the answer.

A boat takes 80 minutes to travel a certain distance upstream. If the same boat travels the same distance downstream it takes 40 minutes. If the speed of the boat becomes 4 times its original speed and the speed of the stream gets reduced by 25%, find the approximate time, (in min) the boat will take to the cover twice the given certain distance by traveling downstream.

For the 30 up stream and 44 down stream type problem We can take HCF of 44 and 55 is 11 as d.speed and we get on substitute in the identity we get Up speed as 5 orally. We may substitute these values of 5 and 11 in the second identity and if it satisfies we can conclude X as 11+5)/2 and Y as 11-5)/2. This is a retired bank employee from Hyderabad . The formula you told d=t(x^2-y^2)/2x time is total time going upstream and downstream so why distance you took for only one side

This formula is derived from the traditional itself where we solve like D/D.S + D/U.S = total time and here D is the distance for one side.. 😃👍

Sir, pata nahin aapko shukriya kaise kahein. Honestly, my mathematical literacy was extremely poor. But I always thought I didn't have it in me & used to give up any maths related questions in entrance examinations. What I was unaware of is that my "basics" were weak. Foundation hi nahin tha, toh building Kahan se khari hogi😄 One month ago, I stumbled across your channel but thought you'd also give 100 tricks & formulas like many other channels with million views, which honestly is useless for learners like me. But you are the best teacher in mathematics I've came across. Every topic that I've covered here, made my concepts clearer than ever.
