So exciting for you Lorna. I remember watching NB Sea Glass being built from new. No feeling like it. Can’t fault your colour choices 😉 - you always wanted a pink boat. She’s going to make you so happy. Catherine xx
Good for you ! Everyone will like the name ,but you’re the one that counts ! Looking forward to your vids on your new craft ! If you get a chance post the overall finished weight just curious ,it’s a guy thing . haha…..
Hi Lorna, Foxglove is a good name for your new boat...it wont be long now and May is a great month to get her launched, right at the start of the season. Happy times ahead... Cheers, Jon B.
So good to see the progress of construction..I bet the inside will look bigger once everything is fitted...looking forward to following your adventures 👍
She looks AMAZING!!! And I'm so chuffed that I was right about the name ;-) the perfect name for the perfect narrowboat, she is going to look so fab in those colours, you must be so excited and impatient in equal measure!
Amazing your boat looks great love it and the name is just perfect I can't wait to see your videos when she is fully fitted out. So much to look forward to and glad we can share with you your journey and excitement roll on May. Cheers J
Great vlog Lorna.. great name choice as well Fox Glove where as mine is Flying Fox.. look forward to the next time we see an update your little cute boat. Take care....
That will be a precious tin of paint! My suggestion is to take a little to a paint mixers (even B&Q) and machines can colour match it in tone though not necessarily gloss/silk shine.
i cant wait to see the finished project the colours sound amazing!! im looking into doing a project of my own so id love to know the comapny youve gone through or a rough budget of how much it all cost if you comfortable sharing :) cant wait for the tour!!
It would probably be small enough to haul around on a trailer , which could open up the possibility of exploring the Scottish canals for a holiday , then loading the boat back onto a trailer and taking it back to its home dock when the holiday is done.
Great to see the progress on the boat and the positive discussions on the colour schemes. The guys seem like a good choice. As is the name of the boat! Good luck in the run up to May, your enthusiasm for it all is infectious and uplifting in these times, Laura!
So exciting isn’t it? We had our Dream built by Aintree and Jamie, Mark, Dave and the lads made it the most fun time! Love your choices and name - will be great to see the finished article on the water !
Re your bespoke outside colour. If you could ask the builder to paint a 4” square of metal with all the primers, base coat etc. then spray the bespoke top coat. Keep this safe then when you need some touch up, take the plate to a car paint supplier and ask them to use ‘photo colour matching’ to produce an identical coloured paint.
When you were choosing the colours, One thing was in my mind while watching as you picked the colours and the colours did screamed Lorna and the name of the new boat. Cannot wait to see Foxglove once completed, great video Lorna 👍🏻
And therefore cheap(er) to licence, moor up, heat up, black up and propel. Plus no part of the network you can't cruise on. An utterly sensible size for single handed boating as is not used as a liveaboard. It would, perhaps, be reasonably inexpensive to have it freighted across the channel for cruising sur le continente. I've already volunteered to help crew CC's hire boat if ever he ventures across the channel so I suppose I could volunteer to do the clapper/ loader thing on this boat too. 😂😂😂
