hello friend, you got a great deal on a good boat.i bought this same model new in 97 and sold it in 07, it was a really good boat. fished club and federation tournaments out of it. i rarely ever had fish die due to an easy modification with some over head 3/4 pvc pipe in the wells. there is room underneath the lip of the wells which will give them plenty of ox. the guys used to call my wells the shower room...lol... your XR6 is a good one also. i tried several props through the years and found that with no jack plate a 4 blade 21 pitch was the best. it was way better on high speed handling and i actually picked up speed over a 3 blade because it lifted more of the hull out of the water for less resistance. with a full load i could run 60 at 5100-5200 and 63-64 with just me and a light load with same rpm. Also just a bit of info on your rear compartment behind the drivers seat. these models came with a drop in storage box which could be removed for oil tank and cranking bat. access.there was a factory recall in which they said if too much weight was placed on that corner the boat could possibly become swamped. the fix was to move the battery and oil tank and then place more foam in the rear corner of the boat. i never took mine in because i wanted the extra storage. anyway its good to see this model still making people happy...lol...i truly regret selling mine as i have had nothing but engine trouble since. my little procraft never let me down!!! i still have the 97 catalog.
sylvrbullets Well thank you and thanks for all of that info. Thats really good to hear from guys who have owned my model in the past. As far as I know, I'm the only one with a surviving ProCraft in about a 100 mile radius. All others have been scrapped....which is a shame. I love that XR6 powerplant. One of Mercs most bulletproof engines. I haven't had a single issue out of this rig and I'm going on 3 years with her now. I added a 6" jack plate and new prop and get 64.4 @ 5600 now and i also upgraded to a Motor Guide Digital tour 75 and recessed the foot pedal. My dream is to one day come across a 2008-09 ProCraft 210 SuperPro with a 250 ProXS on it....I love those boats to death.
I know these videos are 8 years old, but we just purchased a ‘95 180 Combo that looks so much like yours. I cannot find any manuals or schematics online to help us refurbish it. All links are spam and useless. If anyone has manuals we could get a copy of or purchase I would love to hear from you! Thanks
Thank you, and I agree. I thought it was a pretty cool idea, I haven't seen that in any other boat I've been in...should've cleaned her out before video lol
+Michael Lawson I'm running a worked 23P Laser II at 3&1/4 below pad I believe. Maybe 3&1/2 inches. I don't remember. A 23P Tempest Plus is supposed to be the best prop for my hull I just haven't came across one yet
Awesome vid. Trying to do research for a friend because my livewells are different. How does the livewell system and valves work? When I looked on his boat he only has a "fill & empty" valve and his a switch for livewell 1 and 2. The white lettering is no longer there from wear and tear so not sure what it does when pushing it up or down. Any advice?
