Yeah baby!!! They are awesome, I put them to work yesterday and they worked great. No rattles, spread the rods out well and held tight on the fish. I can’t thank you enough and the review will be out soon!!!
I would have never thought I'd it either man , but this RU-vid stuff got me to upgrading cameras over the years , i never knew what a hotshoe mount was but once I saw one I was like this things awesome lol . Thank you for commenting brother
There you go again. Mr. "I can do it better myself" up to your old tricks again. That was a heck of an idea with the hot shoe mount. I'm already sub'd to Glen so I'll see the review once he does it. They looked real good too!💪👍💯
I really like the way you improve a design using your experience and what your buddies share with you. Like this rod holder you saw different ways to improve it. I also notice you pointed out on another video fishing companies have seen your work and decided to make gear and equipment copying what you have done your "hacks" are very smart! the awesome boat anchors you have made, and that zip tie the chain to it is so handy and solves a big problem. Love your ideas and humor great channel buddy.
Ok this is weird! I just subscribed to your channel a few weeks ago, That's me in the picture with the rod rack aboard the Chatt Cats Fishing vessel. LMBO!!!!!! VERY nice rod rack! Love that it's removable!
Really you're talking about the picture Glenn sent me right , that is weird lol and kind of awesome at the same time lol , I appreciate you subscribing by the easy and watching brother
Thank you brother you know I appreciate you brother I sent someone to your channel cause they were wanting to know more about crappie fishing and you one of the best I know
That hot shoe mount was a great idea, after to was on the boat it looked really good. You do an awesome job on all your DIY’s 👍. Good little helper you have there too 👍. Keep em coming Keith, I enjoy watching your videos.
Thank you Sir, that's one way ti make one there's allot of opinions out there . That seemed to be the best way for Glenn though . I appreciate you leaving a comment brother . It's encouraging more than you know
They good for cats and striper, you could down size your rod holders and troll for crappie with em too . I fish for everything lol . I appreciate you watching brother. And commenting .
@@FishinNStuff I have seen people troll for crappie, it just would not work here since we have so much flooded timber. I do troll around the bridge, but I have to keep the line right next to the pylons or I do not catch them. Plus the Skeeter ZX200 might look a little funny with those holders! haha. I might however have to try that with my aluminum boat. Good stuff man
Asleep At The Reel Crappie Fishing TV I haven't quite figured out crappie trolling yet lol I understand spider rigging but it just because I never do it I guess lol , but I know people that are very good at it , I enjoy trolling for catfish and striper though
Asleep At The Reel Crappie Fishing TV tour skeeter would look funny with rod racks on it haha but it's an effective way to fish , I can't troll for crappie either , but I love trolling for bass , catfish, and striper . Well I troll for bass on my hobie any way . I had a Javelin Bassboat but I like the simplicity of the Aluminum boat , no carpet = easier to clean lol
@@FishinNStuff I can imagine. I hate fish flopping around on my carpet! :-) I do have a flat bottom that I might consider doing that with, you got me interested. BTW I guess the rod holders will not look at bad as the PVC stand I am about to make to put a dang-um umbrella on my boat. It is freekin hot here.
Great job Keith, that is a awesome rod rack. I really need to get with you when I start building the Patriot Kat pontoon. I’ll be making rod racks and other stuff that you eye for fabrication and design might point me in the direction I need to go. Thanks for sharing another great DIY video. Keep up the great fun. God Bless America.🇺🇸
Well, I gottem built today....they turned out.... AWESOME! THANKS Keith for doing this video. I used some of your ideas on my build. I posted pics to the FB page. Thanks again!
Haha I'll do what I can , you know I got you lol . I appreciate it brother I got the kind of mind that wonders , if I ain't destroying Chinese reels im thinking up something to make lol
another great idea and job. love watching your videos. after finding you on you tube and subscribing to the channel a few months ago, i have gone back and watched videos i didn't know about or just hadn't got around to watching; love them all.
You should make and sell them. Those are nice. I have me an idea now to redo mine. I used a t-post with 3/8” holes already in it every inch to mount mine. I used a 3/8” threaded rod through a piece of 3/4 conduit to stiffen it up but is screws into a plate and is a pain to get on and off.
Man I hope it does help you that's why I make these videos , if you need anything or have any questions I'l be glad to help . I appreciate it brother if you remake em send me a pic via emal please
Well done. Maybe later you could put VHT High Temperature Spray Paint Engine Enamel Gloss Black SP124 paint on them & then use one of those 1600w heat gun to heat them up to 287°C (550°F) so you have baked enamel on the steel.
You know that's a great idea right there . Ive had tons of success with the bed lines but you know on the painted part I showed , where the rod holder slides in that work work way better I bet . I appreciate you commenting brother ol and watching it means allot
Great rod holders. One thing I would look at to make it cleaner is weld the nut on the bottom or just drill and use a nut on both sides (top and bottom) to clamp the Fish Bite rod holders in. That way both nuts can be SS and match the SS holder. I have a set up I clamp to a post on the dock so I can remove easy, just have a bunch of holes so I can change spacing to run more or less number of holders on the bracket. Keep up the good work.
Thank you brother I appreciate you commenting man my buddy said the same thing lol . He said I should have welded the nuts on the bottom side , the channel wasn't really thick enough for tapping , I agree it would have looked cleaner but I was worried about the nut scraping off the bed liner when it gets tightened up , but that's what it's all about seeing how other ppl do stuff and improving every build , thanks for watching brother
Brother I just recently stumbled across you. Man you pretty impressive with your work. I'm keeping tabs on you. Thanks for sharing and your helper is adorable to say the least. Many thanks
Thank you brother , my helpers a heart breaker lol . I appreciate the kind words too , I just like making stuff and that's where the name kinda came from . I make tons of stuff not fishing related but it's a fishing channel so lol . Thanks for the comment and for watching Sir
Yeah I work in Fabrication , I weld some but now days i run a Robot welder , I've done allot of it over the years , different jobs i mean . Thank you Sir and thanks for watching brother
What a great diy… i may do something similar on the rear of my fishing pontoon. Really appreciate your videos, you’ve given me several projects that i will tackle over the winter, by spring i will be ready to slay the crappie here on High Rock Lake.
Awww that's awesome I like how you thought about the angle so the pole handles won't touch👌 He was sure happy 😊 awesome work really appreciate it💯 Have a great week bud much mahalo🤙🏽😊
Thank you brother it really worked it good . You ever have an Idea in your head then your kind of shocked when it works Haha. I appreciate you commenting man
That's incredible Keith. You have a gift my man! Those rod racks aren't goin anywhere. Also, Any time you add kids as helpers, you got me hooked. :) Awesome Video. -Scott
I think I’m gonna make some of these for spider rigging, I’ve got a war eagle 1548 that I use for everything from trolling crankbaits to duck hunting, so being able to remove stuff easily is important to me as well as equipment not taking up a lot of room, great video man, appreciate the help!
I thought about making some for spider rigging man just make everything smaller you won't need everything as heavy duty sho itll be cheaper and easier thanks for watching buddy
I KNEW you had to have help building stuff. You're the muscle, But Sydney's the Brains behind the operation. Lol. She's an AWESOME designer of rod holders. I'm gonna have more rod holders on my boat than I have rods for , and I have well over 30 rods. !Lol. "Tight Lines " Brother, and "Fish On" ..May God Bless you and your Family , and have a very Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year.
She's my Cupcake,,,,, that's what I call her lol . She is 2 hand fulls , I appreciate you brother, I really do and I hope God blesses you and your family this holiday Season and keeps you safe . Merry Christmas buddy
@@FishinNStuff Thank you Brother. "Cupcake " huh...? That's what my Drill Instructor used to call me. Lol. Please tell Cupcake, that Cupcake from Georgia said Hi. I later got other names, but I don't think I'll ever post them here. Lol.
Haha I know what you mean brother , a guy at work called me cupcake one time trying to be funny and I looked at him as serious with that crazy look I can give lol and said what kinda MAN calls another man cupcake,,,,, well needless to say he never done that again haha . But I just call her my cupcake she asked me why once and I told her cause I live her ass much as she loves cupcakes and she understood then . Cause that girl loves some cupcakes lol
Your Hot Shoe Mount got me to thinkin. I have two downrigger mounts for winter fishin in the deeper lakes around me (trolling). Anyway, I'm thinking I can make me some slide in's for those for some rod holders, since I have one on each side. I really like it when I can get a twofer out of my equipment. Love your shop helper!
Loved these brother ! Just subscribed ,I do lots of similar diy stuff for catfishing and boat set ups , you’ve given me great idea now for similar set up on my boat , I run tiller motor and like this guy don’t want the rack across the back !
Thank you for subscribing brother , I love to make stuff , if you have any thing you'd le ti se me make , leave a comment but I must warn ya a lines forming lol I appreciate it Sir
Okay, first off, me leaving a comment is like seeing Halley's Comet, a very rare occurrence, it doesn't happen often. But sir, I about almost cried from smiling when I saw your little girl wearing a welder's helmet, gloves, and holding a torch, saying "Yeah baby." I don't have children yet, but I have made the determination that should I have a daughter first, she's going to do everything useful with me that I would have my son. so there's that. Also, great job on "Thinking outside the boat". I hope this video gets the exposure that it well deserves.
Thank you brother I appreciate that . That was my grandbaby though . She looks like her mom and acts like my wife Haha sassy . Sounds like you'll be a good dad . Im thinking from you talking you may be a Fabricator too ? Either way though I thank you for watching and leaving a Halleys Comet comment I feel honored brother
Fishin N Stuff Looking good for granpappy status, fooled me. Not a professional fabricator, just someone who likes to use whatever tools are at my disposal. Welded together an 18ft tall steel shade the other day, so getting better. Always wishin for better fishin, thanks for this gem!
@@theartofgun5344 hey man I didn't see your reply sometimes RU-vid like of stinks at notification . Welding is one of those things you kind of get better at the more you do it . I'm no professional either but I have been doing it a little while lol
Thank you Sir , I've got some cool DIYs coming soon , I'm trading boats and I'm making some stuff for the new one , thank you for watching commenting and subscribing brother I appreciate it man
Great DIY again my friend! I'm going to go check out your Camera Mount video next. I finally Picked up a GoPro from a friend and am taking your advice and jumping right into it. Happy Fishing!
Happy fishing man , your right , you don't get no where if you don't try . And sometimes we fail trying but that's just part id learning brother , let me know if you need any help
Yeah baby! Don't let the accent fool ya. I'm a Journeyman electrician and have used many tools throughout the years. But this man can teach us a thang or 3 . I'm just sayin. Keep an open mind and you just might save some money. I know i have saved hundreds.
I like it! I contacted you about a way to do a spread of rods for Crappie spider rig setup on the front of my ProCraft..... This setup is steel and the rod holders I have are plastic or maybe ABS, but now that I see the rod holders you used, I think they are way more sturdier.... So I'll probably change to those. And the best thing is, if I want to troll from the rear for cat fishing or even if I wanted to troll for panfish, I could just make extra hot shoe mounts, and move the rod holders to those mounts I wanted to use. Did I say "I like it" ? Good one! But I just watched the aluminum mounts for your SeaArk, and I like them, too. Wish I could weld aluminum. Maybe I could do these split hot shoe in aluminum with a bolted hot shoe. But maybe, too, the bed liner paint would withstand rust pretty well.
I think the bedliner will hold up , I mean 90% of trailers are steel and they hold up for years , now salt water is a different animal all together , the Aluminum adjustable rodholder mounts are not welded and you could still mount em on the hot shoe mounts so you could adjust em . Man I appreciate you watching brother
@@FishinNStuff absolutely love it! Finally picked up a boat too, I'll be throwing a video up of that soon! Needs some work but she's going to make a nice one!
@@FishinNStuff 😁 she sure is, melted my heart and cracked me up sideways brother. Me thinks she just might be a chip off the old block there G-Paw. Jus sayin . 😎👍✌🖖🐟💥🛎
Jason Wilson it just takes practice , the longer you do it the better you get . I already subscribed to your channel, ol and my Daddy taught me everyone's a Sir until they dont deserve it lol so again thank you Sir , my fishing brother lol
Great job great helper 👍😁👍 I really like that hot shoe mount iv been busy with a go kart been making short clips as I go I ripped it down and now I'm painting it then I have to get a clutch and odds and ends and reassemble it video soon. Wish I could record the stuff we do at work I work for the Motion Picture Studio Mechanics I'd lose my job I can't even video at the shop making my own stuff so I have to do it in my backyard lol Thanks for the awesome DYI video's and KEEP EM COMING BROTHER 🤙😁👍👍
Im with ya brother we can't record at work either , I did the same thing once to an old gokart for my kids I can't wait to see it brother thanks for commenting brother
I've always thought this was Very cool channel and you got a great voice and accent, brutha. I would buy 2 of those rod holders today if you're taking orders.
Thank you I appreciate you saying that buddy . It means allot brother building the stuff is the easy part , I think I have more time in the video part lol
@@FishinNStuff Dude, I hear ya. I used to be a professional musician, I totally understand how long editing takes. Now, about my order for my rod holders... 😀
hulkhuggett I dont really sell stuff but if you really want some my buddy's a great fabricator and he might could do em kn stainless steel, just saying . But I'm not trying to sell him hes just really good
@@FishinNStuff I have been looking for something like the ones you built for a while. There is stuff on the market, but your design was more of what I am looking for. I'm definitely interested in buying some.
Love your DIY videos. I noticed a I lot of your projects require welding. Could you do a project by brazing aluminum? I know that is a way to bond metals that a lot of folks can do that can't weld. I am interested to see how it holds up. Thanks again for all your videos.
@@FishinNStuff think of it this way...if it doesn't hold up you will be saving someone some cash if they braize the aluminum and their rods go flying off the boat.
I don't remember which DIY video you did but you had a plastic broom/mop holder from dollar tree for the rod lights on your boat, and it got me thinking so i made a rod holder inside my grand Cherokee and it is AWESOME.....you know what I'm saying?.........You know I'm saying
Hi I just got done watching your video and this is an awesome idea. I was wondering what length you cut your pieces to weld to where your rods wouldn’t touch?
I looked though the comment section because I thought I answered that for someone else , I can give you the ball park guess , because it's been a while since I made those . But if you click on Glenn's channel . Its in the description box below the video and comment on his video , even a new visual he's made I bet he will measure it for you . He's a super nice guy
Awesome idea that's thinking outside the box P.S don't said it i can't go fishing for the next 2 to 3 months was filming at the dam slip on the rocks mess my back up
No Sir but that's a great idea . I do have one for back fishing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JFHvpsescxI.html That's the link for it and I had a rod rack video for a pickup truck , but that is a possible future video . Thanks for watching buddy
Excellent idea with excellent execution. Yet I am always concerned when aluminum or stainless steel is not used in a marine environment. If nothing else but the bolt on base. Nevertheless, excellent solution to an anglers dilemma.
You could no doubt use stainless or Aluminum , but it's mostly about the idea of the base call it a prototype lol it's just a DIY sho no need to be concerned I'm don't sell anything
We could try and build a boat out if plywood I guess lol . I'm mostly kind to everyone i meet but i wouldn't say i have tons of friends, well true friends, you know what i mean . But i do like to help ppl . I think you reep what you sow
Fishin N Stuff What I did was brought the 30 degree holders from Bass Pro and installed them on the back of my boat, but I wanted something for the sides.
For that third hand when trotlining or juglining from a pontoon. And its portable and can be switched out with a regular rod holder. It comes in real handy baiting a trotline or taking off a cat. The top of the H with the roller PVC in-between the two uprights lets the trotline roll forward or backward. Here's another PVC hack utilizing a mounted rod holder on a pontoon. 14 inches (1 inch) of PVC that fits snugly inside your rod holder. Two hose clamps to fasten the PVC to the rod holder. then a I inch Tee fitting with a One inch X 6 inch PVC with a cap coming vertically from the tee then a 6 X 1 inch PVC coming horizontally from the same tee, then a 5 X 1 1/2 inch larger PVC placed to roll freely around the 1 inch PVC between the tee and the inch elbow. The one inch elbow is placed at the end of the 6 X 1 inch PVC with a capped 4 X 1 inch PVC vertically mounted to the elbow. The rolling PVC between the two uprights is especially helpful on holding the trotline up for baiting from a pontoon.
Yes Sir I appreciate you watching, I try and keep several ideas ahead of my videos , then I have to do my research build and film then edit. Man its like a job . But most hobbies are lol thank you for watching like I said it means allot brother
