We head over to Brownsea Island, located in Poole, Dorset. It is 1 1⁄2 miles long and 3⁄4 mile wide. It boasts 500 acres of woodland consisting of pine and oak, and houses heathland and salt-marsh.
Brownsea Island is owned by the National Trust, and much of it is open to the public, where you can find large areas of woodland and heath with a wide variety of wildlife.
The island was the location of an experimental camp in 1907 that led to the formation of the Scout movement the following year.
While this explore is not the typical abandoned explore, it is still a good adventure! Join us on the journey over!
