I'm the guy in the police boat, the reason i go out in these conditions is i want to know what i'm up against when a boat capsizes in the inlet or people go overboard. We have had plenty of calls where a boat goes down and we have to respond and help pluck people from the water. Sometimes its calm, but most of the time the inlet is rough when these types of events happen. I train all my guys to be familiar with the inlet in any condition, that way they are ready for anything the inlet throws at them. As you see, people go out in crazy rough seas, who do you think responds to those calls when they happen, you guessed it, me and the guys i work with. The real reason i went out is because i wanted to be on Wavy Boats :-) Thanks for filming!
The Coast Guard's official motto is Sempre Paratus..."always ready"...their in official motto is "you have to go out, but you don't have to come home"....Officer, thank you for being willing and able to go out!
People on vacation will go out and do things in the worst weather. I live on a golf course in the Carolinas and the weather northerners on vacationer will play in is just nuts.
Thanks for noticing. We are always trying to spruce things up while adding some educational value. I think the scanner radio has its place. Definitely not an every video type of thing. Gets old quick.
Haulover was my inlet when I lived in south Florida. We had a 32 Wellcraft St. Tropez and we went out through Haulover a lot. Usually it was okay, but we got smacked pretty good coming in one day. An east wind against an outgoing tide could really pile up some standing waves. But, it's too bad you can't film some of the Bahamas cuts in the Exumas. They make Haulover look like a walk in the park.
Why would anyone go out in these conditions for the hell of it, guess I'm old had enough of adventure in the 60s, not worth your life or boat, not necessarily in that order !
Cancel a 6 pack charter because of the conditions. Even the head end boats go out even if its blowing a gale and you can't hold anchor. Ha... I used to work the big draggers out of Boston and we would fish winter in just about any conditions. Man O Man does it beat the crap out of you. 25 years later and the breaks, bumps and bruises are still there.
I have several cameras and they are overkill for what I do. It's the constant mist landing on the lens because I'm under the rain at times. Plus there was a north east wind so its hitting the camera and myself directly with mist.
@@WavyBoats Every Wednesday night me and a buddy get together and he always asks if there are any new boat videos out. So we hang out drinking beer looking up the prices of each boat. Life's good.
