Boat trailers are notorious for the bearing falling apart, water and lack of maintenance are both problems

I've seen a few travel trailers on the side of the road too... People either use them once every two years, they live in them without moving them, or they travel all the time -- always ignoring the wheel bearings...

Great job Dustin, as you say lack of maintenance & lack of washing. is often the prob. Our boats have to be washed if you are taking the boat from lake to another one. I hope these guys use their brains & wash & maintain their boats from now stupid.

i had the same thing happen with my sailboat trailer a couple years ago, except the wheel stayed on and i was by a mall so was able to get out of traffic

I was driving up I-65 today, going North toward Birmingham, Alabama... it wasn't a rollback but it was a long flatbed trailer that rides at an angle (high at the front, low at the rear), hauled by a 'hot shot'.. or a hot shot setup, whatever it is called. Anyway, there were three vehicles on that trailer... Each one had ONE strap on a single wheel. That was it... they were all rocking and bouncing around. I was trying to get a photo but the other traffic kept getting in my way. It looked like it could be the start of a chain reaction set of accidents... but I didn't see anything happen... and it blasted on by, being driven by a maniac.

That wheel hub looks like it has never been greased. I bet the other side was almost as bad.

Nobody ever thinks about the condition of those hub bearings until your wheel is passing you on the freeway.

Hey do you know what type wood you use for your big blocks? I have a couple 6x6 but they have large split cracks in them, i noticed yours don't.

How heavy do you think that green jack weighs that you use? I just bought a 3ton jack from HF and that weighs like 80lbs. Threw that in the back of my truck for emergencies

It’s one of the aluminum jacks from Harbor Freight. I had the big low profile 3 ton in the truck and got tired of lifting it, so I got the lighter one for the truck and keep the 3 ton at the house lol
