I love how even in a cartoon, they use Skywalk instead of Pearson as the airport!!! Anyone else here get that?

Brian George didn't do the "little button" bit as good as Andy Hamilton did.

The writers here also didn't do quite as good as the writers from "Home Alone 2".

I'm a huge Woody Allen fan. Any series that praises his work I can totally respect.

John Crawford on the bright side, they’d never let it host for free on RU-vid if it had continued.

Cookie and Melvin might be the most annoying people on television but they also clearly have the happiest marriage in history.

That is the worst Andy Hamilton impression I've ever heard.

well I always hate when original cast members of a show depart and voice actors too of an animated show but I have watched the third season with trepidation Brian George sounds a little like a stuffed up nose like he has a bad head cold but as the episodes progress he improves his inflection if you just stop watching after season two it is like throwing the baby out with the bathwater the show is still funny and the original voice of Margaret -one of the creators continues and the fat doggies still eye the leftovers and whine ha

I agree. Thank goodness they never changed Margaret's voice. Bob's being different makes me 😫 cringe...Even their parents voices were different actors. 😭 I'll still continue to rewatch it, but it wasn't the same unfortunately.

You can see the difference in voice when you see that flashback. Andy's much better.

If this show really had to move the characters to Canada, they could have *at least* come up with an better origin story (like Bob getting an job offer from Toronto and the couple having an *serious* decision about such a life-changing move and pulling through with it *for once* and then the emotional drama of dog quarantine), instead of this half-arsed, wacky/cartoonish, nonsensical plot that would *actually* make the Simpsons' writing crew from Season 11 onwards blush.

I actually don't agree. I think the way Bob and Margaret ended up in Canada was pretty in line with the sense of humour you would regularly see on the show. Something that should have been minor (a negligent dog-sitter) turns into something crazy (people making assumptions about the couple and starting hate campaigns). Furthermore, I would say that the show was different from here on out, but not necessarily worse. I enjoyed the fact that Bob and Margaret had friends and social lives in seasons 3 and 4. It opened up more plotlines.
@SuperTed19021
@SuperTed19021 Год назад
@@ghostchick5275 I think you and me should just agree to disagree. The humour, to me, *defiantly* changed from this season (aiming more at the North American sitcom audience compared to the British sitcom audience), and *even* if any of that humour you mentioned was in Season 1 or 2, it was *much* less sedated and logical. Also, B&M had no less or more friends/social life than they did here in Toronto compared to when they were in London, even less to me. Just that their neighbours and work colleagues ("default friends") were more outgoing and friendly, and social life was more sparse geographically and thus more laid-back, showing what you *can* call a cultural clash between British and Canadian attitude/lifestyles. Again, it is what you call "different strokes or different folks", "whatever rocks you boat" etc. I'm am allowed my opinion and you are allowed yours.

Yeah it's pretty contrived. It's almost like the writers thought the only way they could move to any other country would be as if the whole universe conspired against them. I mean maybe they are right though. The whole point of the show is that these are humdrum people feeling stuck in their comfortable but ultimately meaningless middle-class lives. I always thought it was weird they even moved to Canada in the first place, I wonder if it was a funding thing or something. Like maybe they ran out of money but then realized they could by subsidized by the government of Canada if they moved the setting.

1:50 Memory loss, Margaret? You and your husband both flew to Greece for a holiday and you flew to Holland with a friend on a biking weekend. Also at 8:47, what happened to your balls you sometimes showed back in London by not telling Melvin and Cookie to bog the hell off?

all downhill from here , as far as i,m concerned... they should never have changed the xharacters to live in Canada.... boring, predictable, empty and cliched .....crap script-writing from this series onwards.
@SuperTed19021
@SuperTed19021 3 года назад
Not to mention the characters also got dumber and the whole humor shifted to a typical North American sitcom format with any dry British humour gone. I only *really* have time for the first two seasons of "Bob and Margaret" (London). The further two seasons is an example of executive/hierarchic meddling. The loss of Andy Hamilton was a *big* loss too.
