Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on RU-vid, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on RU-vid. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on RU-vid, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.

Love this one, a great western story from Dylan; and that Blood on the Tracks album is one of his best ever. Have you done "Tangled up in Blue" from that album? It's really good.

Dylan did a lot of 'western' style tracks. He was cast with Kris Kristofferson in the movie 'Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. The song "Knockin on Heavens Door" is part of the sound track.

Who else could write a song with so much narrative packed into it that you could make a two hour movie. Love it.

No one can tell a story in a song like Bob Dylan. No wasted words. It comes alive. Lily was a showgirl, and Big Jim was her sugar daddy. You got the story right away. It took me a lot longer than that.

Two of my favorite Dylan tunes , "Gotta Serve Somebody (Official Audio)". and "Lay, Lady, Lay".....btw, He is the original writer and singer of "Knockin' on Heavens Door"

This was the song that turned me on to Bob Dylan, my dad was big on stopping by music shops. We stopped at one in Canada on our way to camp. They used to play albums on the store stereo and this was it. Been a fan ever since. He taught me to listen to the lyrics.

Best part of your review is “it’s left unclear”…😂😂…that’s Dylan and why we love him…..

What a genius story. An incredibly charming, charismatic criminal goes to a town and detonates an emotional explosion among fed-up wives (murder), which gives him the perfect chance to escape in the chaos and head off to another town with his gang of thieves and do it again. It's taken me a while to warm up to Blood on the Tracks, but reading/paying attention to the lyrics enhances it. Bob Dylan is like a movie director, but for music. He really effectively puts you in this scene and with these characters.

My favourite Dylan album: not a bad track on it. Try Idiot Wind, superb teach. Love this one too though!

I always interpreted this as an extravagant plot including Lily, Rosemary & the Jack of Hearts to get rid of the rich and powerful Jim - Rosemary wanted to do one good deed before she died and that was to help Lily get away from Jim so she could be with the Jack of Hearts - who was now rich, too, and they could go off an live their lives together.

If you are looking for a through-line in Dylans catalog look to references to playing cards. This song makes them the centerpiece of action and narrative.

Dylan's songs are always interesting and intricate, with plenty of room for interpretation and for listeners to find and take their own meanings away from the listening.

If you, like me, are driven by lyrics, I would suggest you check out “the Stranger Song” by Leonard Cohen. It’s rich in texture and sparse instrumentally and really quite beautiful

Yes, great song. Used very effectively on the soundtrack of the movie "McCabe and Mrs. Miller." Cohen wrote so many excellent songs. "Last Year's Man" is one of my favorites.

If you're a lyrical guy with a lot to dissect, your greatest challenge is the 1974 Genesis concept album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Peter Gabriel is a genius with metaphor, imagery and wordplay. It is dense and complicated but the most fascinating piece of music in my library.

Props to you for understanding this song. I could never follow it. There are many lyric heavy songs by Dylan. I always wondered how he could remember all of those lyrics when performed live. ‘Gates of Eden’ would be a challenge for you. But I’ll recommend a shorter song. ‘Love Minus Zero/No Limits’ has a beautiful melody and confusing lyrics.

FWIW: Without even reading the lyrics of the song closely, I wouldn't lean toward a happy ending, because Dylan doesn't do happy endings, just complicated ones. Would he be even half as great if he did?

Did Big Jim recognize the Jack of Hearts from a previous bank heist? Whose revolver clicked before Rosemary stabbed Big Jim?

Big Jim saw the face before, "Maybe down in Mexico, or a picture upon somebody's shelf". I think he recognized him from a deck of cards.

No seriously, I think Big Jim recognized Jack from a Wanted Poster and was going to shoot him, but somebody had removed his bullets (Lily?), hence the 'cold' gun.

More than any other song I've heard, this is a complete detailed movie script in a song [*]. - AC/DC also has a great song about "The Jack" [*] - Honorable mention to Willie Nelson's "Red Headed Stranger" - which they actually made a movie of. "Well the yellow haired lady was buried at sunset, and the Stranger rode free, of course. Because you can't hang a man for shooting a woman that's trying to steal his horse - Don't cross him ..."
