This is a FANTASTIC interview and piece. I remember when BIG DEAL hit B'way; the clips of Fosse's choreography (for which he won a Tony) for it look BRILLIANT. I'm sorry I didn't see it (it had a short run, as I recall). But its big number "Beat me Daddy, Eight to the Bar|" was featured on that year's Tonys. Towards the end of this conversation, Fosse (inadvertently) gives a primer on how to choreograph for the theater and what to look for in dancers when they audition. TOTAL genius. RIP Bob AND Gene.
Great interview, but looking back you could tell the end was near. Bob looked and sounded tired, and the light had gone out in his eyes. He was 58 here but looked 70.
