I’ll admit that I lean more towards Olu. It’s because she isn’t Abishola’s biological mother that her affection (however grumpy it is sometimes) and protectiveness shine all the brighter. I’m lucky to have two parents who are present, caring and involved in my ups and downs, but not everyone has that.
I'm not sure if this show would've worked in the UK. I saw some British shows (Chef, Desmond's Eastenders) that featured interracial relationships, and it didn't seem unusual there. I could be wrong though.
