Btw, Bob I'm a native Arabic speaker, even Sunnis argue internally amongst themselves as to which Hadiths are authentic. You almost gave him an out, by making this a Shia vs Sunni thing. There are also other non Shia sects like the Ubadis and the Zaidis who don't accept Sunni hadiths. But the point is that even Sunnis quibble to this very day, this is why there are new sects like the Quranists who reject all Hadiths. furthermore, even the so called Mutawatir (mass transmission) is not agreed upon. Some scholars say there is 30 mutawatir hadiths, some say it is 70, some say a hundred and so on. And there is the concept of mutwaatir via the letter and via meaning. Most of the mutawatir hadiths are via meaning, this is very significant, it means the words were changed and the meaning supposedly kept. I think only 1 hadith only is agreed upon by all Sunni scholars to be Mutawatir in both meaning and letter. The famous Hadith about "who ever lied about me will sit on hellfire". Bob, Hijab is not arguing in good faith, he is using your ignorance of Arabic to score debate points, and he is misleading you and even lying at times. This is always going to be a rigged game, if most Islamic books aren't translated yet, but all the major Christian scriptures is already available in English which Hijab can speak. It's like debating a Zoroastrian who can speak ancient Avestan AND English, while you can only speak English. It's not a fair fight, and u should point this out from the very beginning. You should also point out the rhetorical tactics Hijab uses of "don't teach me about my tradition, learn from me" because he is fine with acting as if he knows more about Christianity than Christians themselves, I mean isn't this the whole point? I missed this live. I felt the holy spirit through your words as you read the scripture especially the words of Jesus to his disciples. It's strange that even as a believer you still hear Jesus calling you even closer to learn, to pray and to be fruitful. He knows people like me who think a lot and he is there to reason and teach new things and reveal amazing things. Thank you for the work you do.
