In 1975 Stevie Wonder did a stadium concert in Kingston Jamaica. Bob opened for him and was so good the people would not let him go! So Stevie came on stage and sang I SHOT THE SHERIFF with Bob. Then Bob left and Stevie got on with his part of the show! I WAS THERE!!!!
You meant that it supposed be the last reunion show of Bob with Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh. Also Bob's bandmembers like: Al Anderson, Tyrone Downie, Alvin Seeco Patterson, Aston Barrett, Carlton Barrett and The I Threes were there too. After Bob's set. Stevie had came on stage with his band "Wonderlove" and he blasted everybody that night with his Funk, Soul and R&B music. Bob, his friends and the band had watched Stevie's set. Bob was hypnotized by Stevie's music. During the encore he asked Bob and his band to come back on stage. They've did I Shot The Sheriff together. And after that Bob joined Stevie by himself to do "Superstition" til the end.
OMG tears of joy in my heart hearing this, it brings me back to the mid 70's before Bob, John, and Pete died. I know Lennon hasn't much to do with this but I miss him too. God Bless Jamaica and god bless music!
I saw Bob marley and the wailers played at the Palace Park june7th in London 1980.I when with my brother phill and his mate Ian very good gig and a great day out. The lineup was bob marley and the wailers. The average white band. Joe Jackson band. And the q tips with Paul Young. Tickets £7.50 each on the door. Me and my brother and Ian were on the left side of the stage where a poud is in front of the stage. I remember concorde came over Palace Park when bob marley and the wailers were on stage. Nice one one love

In the 70's Bob also did a concert with the Commodores, big mistake Bob was the opening act and once he finished most of the crowd left with him. The Commodores played to a less than half filled Garden or Nassau coliseum can't remember which venue but Google it.
+kwacou I heard the ones that stayed were tired and weren't that lively for the main act I wish wish wish to see a live recording of it and watch him do his thang and then see the crowd
+kwacou And that was the night the Commodores learned what a truly INTERNATIONAL star was. Whatever new direction was needed to match that, it seemed Lionel Richie did it and the others did not. Therefore he also went on to become an international star and yes it is quite obvious he was trying to inject some Afro-beats into his music to beef it up a bit. But today it sounds corny and disingenuous. Meanwhile, the rest of the band could not reinvent themselves for a new generation. Artists need to reinvent themselves to be relevant to every generation or produce art so brilliant that transcends time and younger generations keep rediscovering their music. Art that is timeless is art that is chosen of the freewill of every generation who discover it in their search for knowledge and themselves and become enlightened by it and it holds up to every critique, every generation to come. The fact that so many Millennials know and love Stevie Wonder and Bob Marley speaks to the timelessness of their art. They know Lionel Richie as Nicole Richie's father and most do not even know who the Commodores are and I doubt they would feel particularly passionate about the band after hearing it.
an International Star that most people in the States didn't know who he was please! lol WTF are afro-beats? Fela? THe same Fela who borrowed from American Funk and Jazz. You're an idiot.
