Bob, Peter and Bunny at their very best....the Original Wailers. They were like brothers during this period, when fame and fortune was not the objective, but making good music was. Rest in eternal peace to all the three legends
I saw Bob in Dublin 1980, saw Bunny in CA late 90's( memory is a bit hazy on this one) at Reggae on the river. Both were uplifting. I've sometimes saddened that I never got to see the Wailers. No matter, the music still touches the heart. This mix makes me dance and cry tears of joy and sadness
beautiful music life…..is fool of sorrow….but u got to get up because it’s a learning fight…. everyday…..GOT TO WIN ARE BROKEN FIGHT……………….dont look back……..TAKE FLIGHT!!!!!
And Joe Higgs. But before that it was the likes of Jackie Mitoo, Tommy McCrook, and the band they played in the Skatalites, which were the inspiration for The Wailers. One Love! Guidance! Respect!
in1985 found a cassette tape, while getting my moms car washed at a car wash. bought the tape and took it home. would introduce me to Ska, and rocksteady music of the 60's. it was Bob Marley's birth of a legend lp.
Fell asleep with youtube shuffling random bob marley songs and this video came up and i woke cause i heard it while dreaming (sounds weird i know lol). Fell in love with the first song INSTANTLY
Hey selector thank you for bringing me back down memory lane. You can hear the smooth transition in pace and lyrics from the slow and monotone lyrics to stepped up tempo. (from Lovey/softy to locality music/rudy, to Protest music, to Spirituality music). "I feel like..." Wow those were the days when me and my bredrens like to play our guitars like Bunny them over schoolside, while two of us would be harmonizers. One man on the kato drum or desktop. Just these early musics. Same way my uncle would play the guitar and look and behave exactly like Bunny (headband, epolet, arm band, white sailor suit, early 70s). My uncle was an Orthodox Rasta like Bunny (not Bob or Peter). My family said he was with them as well as Gregory Isaacs. Yeah man, I remember as a little boy he took his Kojak Isaac's record sleeve and poster. Gave his nephews and nieces comic magazines (that's the root of how i ascended to the highest height of education). Unfortunately my calm uncle was murdered at Bellevue when I was in here in the US (of course it would be a different picture if I was there). Please anybody have information on this horrible murder (2004) at Bellevue, please step forward. We can have the police hunt this fxckng fugitive. We ask the police to track down the Matron at Bellevue who resigned shortly after my Uncle's murder. Leave and let my anger flow..at least he deserves that. My uncle clothed me. Tears now fill my eyes when I hear these songs and remember him in my kitchen. Ride on Uncle, Ride on "Jah Man." I wait on Jah Jah to deal with evil people. (I come to realize they gave him seasoned spliff in those times that cracked him off). Evil vampire your empire must get burned, Children of Babylon. Operator, thank you very much for these gems, and allow me to vent. Higher Higher Higher Heights to JAH your Almighty. Ride Natty Ride, Natty Dread Rise Again! RIP
For he who has ears to listen let them hear what a spirit has to say always remember chapt 22revelation bless you brethren and sisters in Jesus name just a voice crying in the wilderness
That rasta was nutty... he burnt that studio to the ground himself in a fit of rage. Lived a nice long life though. Bet he had the stories for sure! All the musicians he worked with including Bob's early days...
I saw him 2nights in a row in Austin in 03 I think. Massive Meltdown. I had no money after the 1st night. I explained the real situation to the same doorman, and me and my girl were in Lee Perry Can Never Die 👑🎼🎙🎚🎛🎧
While traveling the US extensively following Phish in the 90s, everyone dreadlocked with a sweetheart of a pitbull named Opal, the bumper sticker on our Honda Civic hatchback read: Tell The Children The Truth
