I don't trust anyone of the hangers on around him. How was Chris Blackwell saying years after Bob's death that he'd forgotten about Bob's injured toe and when he collapsed at the last tour that Alan Skill Cole, his footballer friend saying Bob didn't need to stop if he'd die. What the 😠 They should have cared more about his health and Bob loved people so much he neglected his health. But I find it funny the guy saying he didn't understand the heavy patois Bob and the others were speaking 😂 I can imagine. I'm Jamaican and there are many different accents in Jamaica. I find it funny when people say they don't understand. And yes, I know the guy saying he wanted to correct the grammar in the 'sheriff song' so do I sometimes 😂 But it's part of the patois. Love the story about shipping the water from Jamaica. We know everything tastes different back home. And Don Taylor, didn't Bob beat him for stealing for him? 😂

😂 Couldn't stop laughing when I read how Bob gave someone the piece of wood to hold till he was ready to beat Don Taylor for stealing for him. And Don still loved him. Bob was a great man but when people betrayed him, he felt it. People who steal and so on. Like Marcia said, he would do anything for anyone. He wanted them to be happy. Sometimes he looked so sad and Rita his wife said he worried about society and people. That's why they got rid of him. He'd just look after people and had a big heart

I took exception to something said about Rastaman Vibrations. There's a guy saying it wasn't very good. I admit it's not in MY top 3. Anyway, the reason the guy gave, revealed something about the album that made me love it more. the black man with the 'plummy' English accent said the album was compiled at Bob's mother's Miami home around 1974. I enjoyed realising why some of the songs on the album were related to Bob's earlier experience in Delaware (with his mother). Night Shift (about his work ethic, rare in the Caribbean), Positive Vibration (about his growth as a Rasta), Rat Race (urban life), Cry To Me (Rita infidelity), War (Bob missed HIM in Jamaica). Bob is a true artist.

@@AS-wj1du That story is baloney. If you’re that dangerous that the CIA wants to kill you, they’d kill you outright and fast. @rastanz
@rastanz Год назад
Interesting documentary, I really enjoyed the content, Thank you for sharing!!! Lloyd Bradley is an author not a listener, he critiqued "Rastaman Vibration" as "it wasn't very good!" based on his claim that the album was released too soon after "Live at the Lyceum" proves his judgement was made on marketability alone and not the popularity of the album and the growing audience and listeners of Reggae music at the time. Not to be taken seriously, his stand point has a degree of being a bias and amateur opinion and should be treated as such in comparison to someone who actually recorded/performed with Bob that would've offered a more professional and in-depth synopsis. Music Journalist Chris Salewics himself called the album "Rastaman Vibration" his (Bob's) best album yet taking reference from the lyrics of tracks such as "Positive Vibration" and "War" and Haile Selassie's speech at the United Nations in 1968, something of which Bradley failed to acknowledge. I personally love the album, the recording is thick with analog rawness and personally one of the best sounding recorded albums since "Catch A Fire", something about it just stands out to me, it might possibly be the meaning behind the writing and the lyrics in relation to his life at that time, or the heartbeat of which sits so tightly in the pocket of the rhythm section of Carlton and Aston. The album is a truly outstanding studio recording with the likes of it's vocal, musical performance, and engineering. The introductory track "Positive Vibration" has one of my favorite basslines by Aston 'Familyman' Barrett of which I performed a cover version (Babylon by Bus version) of the tune. Peace ✌

Don Taylor is an idiot and was a terrible manager for Bob. Thankfully it was short lived, but so was Bob's life and unfortunately that was a pivotal time. I beg to differ on 'Rastaman Vibration' being said to be not a good album. Being a Bob Marley fan from the release of the 'Natty Dread' album when I was at the age of 8,in my opinion there has never been a bad Bob Marley album and I know I'm not being biased. Personally not even taking into consideration that the album did favourably well on the US chart which indicates a breakthrough, I remember at that age enjoying every song on that album and my favourite was the title track and sang along to every song on there,the lyrics to each song was included on that LP.

Bob was lovely but had a tough life and didn't think people would be that wicked when he was trying to unite people. When he had any and anyone coming up to his 56 Hope Road residence with his wife and children. He welcomed anyone to his detriment. This is why when some people succeed, they move on. Too many crabs in a barrel. But didn't Bob's family come with him when he moved to London? His daughter Cedella went to where he lived after he died but if she'd lived there with him, it wouldnt be new to her. Also, Cindy coming to his house or living not far from him, when he had his family there? Definitely agree people know Exodus the most but they know a lot of his other songs not from the album. But people say it wasn't a football injury, it was a spiked boot. What kind of tackle would that be?

No his family didnt live at 56 Hope Road that was their property (Bob & Rita) where he had his band house, where he made music, practised, held counsel with people and had his many affairs. Thats was his office. Nana Rita had her business there as well. While the boys were there a lot Ziggy especially as well as Stephen, Robbie, Rohan, Nana Rita did not allow the girls to go there, only when they started Melody Makers. They went to record. But she always had a home away from the band house for her family. Smart lady. They lived in Trench Town, Bull Bay, then Washington Boulevard then Jacks Hill.

Bob was a great artist however I believe had he not promoted the Rastafarian religion and believed that emperor Haile Sellasie was Jesus Christ who died in 1975, Bob would of lived a longer life. He died in 1981 in Miami hospital and accepted Jesus Christ as his SAVIOR in the end and was baptized by the Ethiopian Coptic Christian church.
