Wow - what an amazing trombonist !!! - inventive and musical ideas, great tone, beautiful clean articulation, spot-on intonation and really handsome too (ok - maybe not that bit, that would be just too unfair !!!).
Just had to say Bob, you slay me! So beautiful and tasteful. I first heard on you Courtney Fortune's Hello Love and I was like, "Really? Really? who is this guy!?" You are now my favorite player, of all the great trombone players. Thanks for sharing and helping teach they younger generation!

if you listen carefully they're ghosted but in the doodle tonguing book, which is where this comes from, you will see that the doodle tonguing method makes you play the note just a lot softer
He uses a lip slur on the downward partial. Writes "ah", preceded by usually "da". Because of this, it still pops like it's tongued, and mostly not that ghosted sound of partially there.
