Get a first look at AMC’s hotly anticipated new drama, "Better Call Saul," the prequel to the award-winning series "Breaking Bad." Set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) meets Walter White, the man who will become Saul is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet. Better Call Saul will track Jimmy’s transformation into a man who puts the criminal in “criminal attorney.” Catch the star of the new series when he takes our stage with Jonathan Banks (beloved “fixer” Mike Ehrmantraut) and Oscar nominee Michael McKean, who plays Saul’s brother, Chuck. Hey, got a lawsuit in mind? Well, your guy is back.

It never ceases to amaze me that the same people who made the best show in TV history managed to make an even better show.

I kept seeing the thumbnail “Better Call Saul” on Netflix and thinking “Well, I will eventually try it, but I'm not sure I'm in for another Breaking Bad-type experience”. Then I finally decided to just watch the first, and I got stunned by how this show is really its own entity, has its own vibe and feel. It relates to BB but is completely independent from it. Made me admire the creators' openness to make a show have its own life and go its own way. They really listen to the characters and the actors, and they just discern where the thing is supposed to go, instead of projecting a big plan all upfront. A wonderful way of creating a show that has a LIFE.

I binge watched five seasons of BCS in two and a half weeks, and the progression of the characters and the growing darkness was superbly handled. I'm on my fourth viewing of the entire series of Breaking Bad and, while its impact has probably diminished because of that, I found BCS began to possibly reach even greater heights during its best episodes. It's debatable. BB is probably more consistant, but shorn of some annoying BB characters BCS had practically zero scenes I wanted to skip.
@davidcherry3107
@davidcherry3107 2 года назад
Consistent is the operative word when referring to Breaking Bad. I don't think I'm overstating when I say every episode was excellent. BB has to be the tightest series I've ever seen.

It really is funny that Michael McKean is sitting up there and no one in the audience knows who his character is yet. Oh..... if they only knew. The Bar hearing scene where Jimmy suckers Chuck into losing it is one of the best pieces of drama ever recorded. Better call Saul is even better than Breaking Bad.

Odenkirk could talk forever if he wanted very similar guy to the character he plays

That interviewer sounded so serious. You're not interviewing Sadam Hussein. It is better call saul. Lighten up.

Great show, please these actors and the audience need another show to enjoy. New Mexico has rich cultures and exciting tourism, art, convention industries all would make great shows, with the great writers and actors, directors.
