I thought the reason why bob was so chill was his time in the airforce and the amount of shouting he was doing that he vowed to stop being so loud was that fake or am I just stupid
@John Smith...he may have been referring to Ripple wine...there was a tune with a refrain: I don't need no Cadillac car....just give me a bottle of wine...down at the Lightning Bar.
Thank you for putting these compilations together with knife only . For years I would save his videos and skip to the part where he starts using the knife so I could fall asleep . The tapping and mixing sounds on the palette, and the scraping sound of the knife on the canvas have always been the best ASMR I’ve ever experienced . I think everyone’s ASMR triggers and feelings are different , but to me what I call Unintentional ASMR is the best . Like Bob and his paintings or the sound of someone typing on a keyboard or the sound of someone drawing . Those are always the best and I’m glad my mind is triggered by these sounds . Not everyone has the blessing Of being relaxed by ASMR .
If you search for "Mountain Challenge Bob ross" you will get an episode where only his knife is used. I've "watched" (listened when going to bed) that episode a million times.
TheChach has Sekiro become so ingrained in speed runs that prothestics are used as an example of a common item in general video game speed runs? Because if so I find that cool
You know whenever I watch a Bob Ross tutorial, when he's done I like to close my eyes, and pretend that I'm there in the painting, having a good time, and having a conversation with Bob, it's a dagger through my heart knowing he's gone, I'll see you in heaven my good friend💕
I have been a knife-only painter for over 15 years (I had a stroke at age 30 and could no longer feel the pressure of a brush).. As an architect, I returned to painting because the Architecture world seemed a bit too constraining, calculated and soul-depleting. ...and this "knife" I still use was a gift from my parents, when I first started investigating painting as a teenager, through Bob and PBS. Now, watching this at age 46, he still brings me a Peace like no other. "Not real keen on that maintenance stuff.." - exactly!
Bob had many years of formal art training which he incorporates into this technique. If you watch his tutorials you will see brush choice, paint loading technique, blending colors, how to hold and use the various brushes. This show with no teaching won't show you what's easiest and best.
Lol, the whole purpose of his show was so people at home (with more free time than artistic inclination) could follow along and reproduce similar paintings. He had no formal training he watched his predecessor Bill Alexander on TV and copied his style. To summarize this is about as amatuer as ART gets. What benefits a generation (millenials) from celebrating mediocrity?
I used to come home from middle school and watch Bob Ross on PBS every day. I would go into the deepest ASMR trances back then, so deep they would often last for an hour after the show was over. Was absolutely crushed when he passed away.
I read this "Bob Ross Knife Party" for some reason, and made me think this was going to be some Bob Ross but overlayed with some heavy electronic music. IM GLAD it wasn't!
It's really amazing how simple strokes with a knife or brush can add so much more detail that if you were to look at the finished product first you'd think it took a lot longer and many more small strokes
He died in 1995. If only he would've known that just a few years later, through international TV and especially the internet, he would become one of the most popular faces in his profession...
Bob was just unintentionally hilarious. I wonder if he knew how absolutely hysterical some of his little painting backstories really were. The one here about the beaver trap guy is just an example. In other videos with cabins he says they're abandoned for the following reasons: the guy went hunting out in the woods and a tree fell on him and killed him; the guy went fishing and got drunk and fell in and drowned; the guy had no electricity or gas in his cabin and forgot to build a fireplace so he froze to death. I mean he just came up with this stuff right off the cuff totally side-splitting funny 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
The episode where Bob said he was raising chickens as part of his schoolwork, but failed the course because he couldn't kill them. "I got an E in Chicken Farming". Still hilarious to think about. ✌️♥️ "God bless, my friend"!
Took me about 10 minutes to realize this was for ASMR, I just thought this was a great tutorial on using the knife. Really appreciate this compilation, it's a nice way to take a peek into a ton of different episodes in a row.
“I don’t know any single thing you can do that’ll do more to teach you control of a knife than making mountains” I smell a super wholesome knife fighting training montage on the horizon
I don’t know if I’ve commented but that knife helped me sleep many of nights. I love all the sounds from the knifes, brushes, & especially Bob’s signature voice. I used to get (no homo) tingles from hearing him or listening to his sounds & I thought it was weird but I wanted that feeling because it was a happy feeling. I’ve done many videos on Bob Ross but it truly goes without saying that he’s a one of a kind person that we can never get back. I was born literally the year he passed away which is eerie to me but still, watched this man my whole life.
