I love how he always laughs after beating up the brush after he cleans it.

You can actually see Bob getting visibly better at painting as the series goes on. This is pretty inspiring. No matter how old you get, you're always improving.

I painted this today for my father and while it's not as good as his, I'm still pretty proud of it. Thanks Bob!

Bob Ross passed away 23 years ago today. Thank you Bob for bringing Joy, Love, Warmth, Comfort to so many peoples hearts. He was a master at his craft, and it's always a pleasure to watch a master in session. Between the tapping, scratching, low tones, and whispers, it creates an effect known as ASMR which creates a low level euphoria. That's why he always received letters of people saying it helped them to sleep, put them to sleep, or helped them relax. So it was a compliment. Some people now play Bob Ross episodes before bed for the ASMR alone. People even started buying brushes just to "Beat the devil out of it" to relieve stress, even if they had no intention to paint. He inspired so many to take a leap of faith and jump into painting, even those who thought they couldn't paint to save their lives. And no matter how many times "He beats the devil out of it" I still giggle every time just seeing how much joy he has doing it. And it was great seeing all the animals on the show. He definitely loved to help animals in need and get them strong and healthy, then release them in the wild. And Peapod was adorable. We miss you Bob, and Steve. Hope you're doing okay Steve and still painting. Your probably living a simple life off the grid, I respect that. Happy 4th! Love you Bob!

I watched Bob back in the day for a while. Then one day it hit me. He's just jamming. In music I can walk in to any club in the world where they know how to play the blues, or at least have a concept of how to improvise. We set up a progression and then repeat it until we don't want to anymore. But as we go around the progression, we swap off and let each player take his or her turn to "show off" a bit. It's called Jamming. So what he's doing is setting up a progression so to speak by blocking in shapes that are meaningless at first, but then he will start to see things in it and then bring them out. Once I had that revelation, I had to try it. I loved it. Oh, and that magic white? It is magic! Thanks Bob!!

I hope that Bob and his crew know that Happy Little Landscapes helped a lot of people throughout multiple aspects of their lives!

I like how he whispers when he says "just a little bit", "very lightly" and goes all manly when he says "push hard", "big strong mountain".

I used to watch Bob all the time back in the day. I could never understand why I felt so chilled out and blissful. It became like a drug. Every week I had to watch. I didn't understand what was happening to me. I just knew something was. Now I know it was all ASMR .

My cousin, Jeffrey Hurst, learned to paint by watching Bob. He got really good at it, too. My Mom bought one of Jeff's paintings. :)

If I know anything (I've been told I don't), it's that Bob Ross is a boss.

Brings joy to my life in a way that is immeasurable. I am constantly thankful for Bob's kind words and wonderful lessons.

I never knew Bob still had a following I loved watching Bob make a blank canvas come alive. And everything was possible to him too we need more role models like him nowadays

My art teacher told me not to use these techniques, I still used it for half the painting, and it looked amazing at the top, but then I did the way she wanted it to be, it was horrible. I think the art teachers these days shouldn't be hired

Love bob Ross! You can tell he had to put the pedal down there towards the end because they were telling him time was short. Even under pressure the man was such a calm and cool customer and still was giving tips to people attempting to paint with him at home. Too bad us appreciators of bob can't have our own little society somewhere and all of us live together. What a peaceful, polite, respectful, and happy place it would have to be.

I watched Bob Ross "back in the day" when the series was first playing, and now too, and always enjoy his videos. One thing that looked a little weird in this painting was when he put the grass on the sides of the distant mountain. The blades of grass looked to be about a tenth the size of the mountain, so it was either very tall grass or a very small mountain. He mostly covered up the grass later in the painting, but there is still some visible if you look. Maybe the grass morphed into really large trees (which would be in better proportion to the mountain's size).
