The sound of that knife scraping against the paint pallet is my absolute favorite. Gives me the best tingles. Bob Ross is the best. I don't say was because he still is the best and will be for a very long time.
You'd think it took someone hours to color and texture all these individual boards in the cabin, and Bob's over here just, "And we bounce bloop-bloop-bloop-bloop-bloop."
He was ASMR before it was named. I remember him on PBS after school, I'd get about half way thru his show and be passed out on the couch with drool running out until mom would ask " You alright" and wake me up. And I'd say yeah I'm fine just Mr. Whispers here knocks me out every time. She thought it was funny.
@@Melvorgazh ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. However there are various types of ASMR. One of which is ASMR Sleep. And ASMR sleep RU-vid videos contain stuff. Like Rain on a tin roof, Rain and thunder recorded in a tent. People whispering etc etc. It knocks insomnia in the head usually.
Hope is a clear acknowledgement that there may be something else. You might not be as agnostic as you think, although the true nature of an agnostic is to be part of a group that takes the least flak, which is smart of you.
@@jonadam5505 Don't read too deeply into it. I'm rather hostile to the possibility of a God because that means they are either evil or a being who doesn't actually fit the full definition. Someone who isn't all seeing and all powerful beyond the bounds of time and space.
@@Skerra-kk6smI was where you are now years ago, now I have a more complete understanding. Stick with your thoughts, but know there is still much for you to uncover, please don't close the book, it will stunt your growth good sir.
We all are spirits from the spirit world “WE” our consciousness is from the spirit world too. We are devine entities. Whole universe was created for us to evolve.
Funny that i started to watch his videos ages ago but i never thought it would become ASMR lol even though that's what it is without any of us realising it in the beginning
I remember back in the early 2000's one summer between grade 10 and 11. I got in a bad habit of staying up all night and going to bed at 7 or 8 in the morning. One night at probably 4am I was flipping through channels and found Bob's show. Watched it the rest of the summer lol. And still watch it on RU-vid all the time.
Bob Ross is just one of those guys that you always come back to not just because of his artistic skills, but his calm and soothing voice. I have watched him so much over the years and it never fails to make me fall asleep. It’s like his voice is specifically made for ASMR. Such a wholesome man, wish I could’ve met him or at least been alive when he was. (I was born in early 2002 for those wondering.)
Made for asmr? Once upon a time this man was a drill sergeant or gunnery sergeant, I can't remember which. Basically he was the guy in Full Metal Jacket yelling at Pyle. How ironic is that shit?
For my ears the best part is Bob taking that knife and grabbing some oil paint off the palette, and mixing it. There's just something special about that.
I’m so glad someone else understands, best part of the show was Bob hands down but if I had to give a definite second best thing I’d say that noise in particular!
This man was an amazing painter. His nature scenes were top notch. I was always amazed at the realism his scenes portrayed. It was like you were looking at a color photograph of the place he was painting. It is neat how he can paint his cabins with a knife and the realism he'd add to em. But to me, his cabins kinda spoiled that absolute masterpiece of a nature scene in some cases.
Agreed there were so many beautiful pieces of nature he had drawn and was like “now lets add some buildings in here” and I’d just be like “noooo please it’s beautiful”
Started working full-time at age 16. Worked a short distance from where I lived. Used to come home and watch Bob on PBS and fall to sleep laying on the floor in front of a 15 inch TV. I'm 57 now and still do the same thing. Except its RU-vid on my 72 inch TV and a comfy couch...lol
I travel a lot, most of the time I’m alone without my wife and my kids. And the best thing that happened was discovering Bob Ross on RU-vid. I feel like I have a friend that I can talk to every day. God bless his soul
Does anyone remember another asmr-y PBS show in the 80s or possibly early 90s.... I cannot for the life of me remember what the point of it was, but I seem to remember some kind of new agey music and a voice singing something like "Joooe nooooe beeee"
I enjoyed watching his show every day when I was a kid. Even then I felt how soothing and relaxing he made me feel. His cabin paintings were always my favorites.
All Hail to the Founder & King of ASMR! When in my youth... I couldn't figure out why His voice was so calm & soothing... How everytime I'd somehow end up falling asleep to the sweet voice of this man... Now I finally understand it. And this is why after decades... I still humbly return to be soothed & hypnotized by his calming voice... The Art is just as impressive too!
Thank God for Bob Ross, PBS, & the wisdom to make Bob Immortal! Don't ever 🛑!- Michael McClary, Professor of Trumpet 🎺, Georgia Perimeter College & GSU🎉😅
I got angry, cut holes in the canvass , broke up the frame and easel and created a modern art masterpiece called ; "the art of failure" It's currently on display in an alley next to a dumpster. (The dumpster was already full)
I love the videos but feel sorta sad every time knowing that he's not around anymore. It really is sad. On his show at least, he just had such a positive attitude. Very infectious
I suspect that today Bob is probably amazed and delighted at the size of his fan base. He is so beloved by so many viewers. The internet has made his painting shows so accessible, to people of all ages. (Edit: I meant that Bob is observing things today from heaven, of course.)
@@StrategosBill I think most people know he passed away quite some time ago. He was 52 in 1995 when he died from cancer. In my previous comment I was speaking of Bob in the afterlife as he sees what's going on today. I'll edit my original comment to clarify this.
Bob got me into it - I will thank him when I see him . A beautiful experience . Great teacher . I have had many flight hours on youtube from 0 to wow .
