Hey Bob... GREAT collection of the Waterloo Airfix sets!! I still have fond memories of those sets. The first 1/72 (sometimes referred to as 20mm) Nappy's I bought were Airfix in the 60's. I had sets of the ACW from WAY back then too. I love those old Airfix boxes! The Italeri figures (for Johnp4000, below) are much newer, and therefore better sculpts. The sculpts for the Airfix go all the way back to the late 50's early 60's!! So they are a little dated, but I still like them, and I bought the Waterloo/La Haye St set a couple of years ago, after losing the original from the '70s during relocation's. I like the Italeri and have quite a collection of them along with HAT Nappy's too. It's all good fun! Looking forward to you painting up the AIRFIX troops! be well.
Memories. Had great fun, as a kid, with Airfix. And I was in the age group that waited for the new releases. But no Brit heavy cavalry...no commanders...no French hussars...so left for Minifigs. But who wargames now? It's all by computer. Pity, it's great fun for Dads, sons, even daughters if you have a Barbie hating Boudicea!
Please tell me if possible, where can you putchase a Waterloo battle set? I am just getting nack into my Napoleonic 1/72 figure collecting and painting. Here in Toronto,Ontario Canada, hobby stores are disappearing from the landscape like bison on the prairie. Any suggestions would be very appreciated. A great collection you have brought together. Awesome.
I bought two at my local hobby store years ago, I got the newest version off of an ebay buy. I check out Ebay alot!!! be patient you will find a set. You can also pick up the boxes seperate as well. I can do another video showing how to do this if you wish.
