I realize this is a year old but I gotta rep for OG Uncle Bobby Seger that all the OG brothers and sisters uncles and aunties have told me my whole life has a lifetime invitation to any and all cookouts ya digg... If you haven't already ya gotta react to fire down below Her Strut and Katmandu💯🎯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You are amazing. Thanks for connecting w me on insta!! Look at you go!!! By the way Bob is known as one of the nicest guys in the music business... Alot of his songs are based on his dad. Gambling Man, Still the Same, Beautiful Loser etc Who knows maybe there is some element of his dad here? Just sayin'
“Roll Me Away” is my favorite as it’s the most ballady of the four. But all good. Have you heard the isolated vocal track from “Hollywood Nights”? Breathtaking.
@@laurakali6522 I heard it through Christian James Hand’s podcast or radio show called The Session from July 2019. Or on SoundCloud m.soundcloud.com/theklossessions/bob-seger-hollywwod-nights-re-visited
Oh mercy.. I saw Bob in the 80's when his hair was still long 😜 one of the best I've been to and I've seen a lot!! Her strut is a banger and Fire 🔥down below. 😁❤
My first concert was Seger in 83 or 84 (can’t remember). Lord, I love this man. He had already cut his long hair by then, but it was still on his shoulders. This man has a HUGE catalog. There is a live version in San Francisco of him singing HOLLYWOOD NIGHTS that really showcases his energy and their talents as a band.
I like the video from a concert at Largo early 80’s where he sings “We Got Tonight”. I really want there to be more film somewhere that they can clean up and release.
Bob Seger grew up worshipping James Brown. Funk & Soul runs way deep in his early music, and this was probably his last openly funk inspired track. Check out "Heavy Music (Pt. 1), and "East Side Story" from the album "Heavy Music: The Complete Cameo Recordings 1966-1967"
Look him up in The Bob Segar System performing Ramblin Gamblin Man. Its on yt from like 1968. Pure Detroit fire on what appears to be some sort of local tv show.
This man is responsible for more than a couple of young ladies lost innocence with his music flowing from the speakers of my '73 Charger...Love the memories. Thanx Brother Biz. PEACE!
Yeah, this one slaps hard. I was chuckling to myself hearing you talk about Turn The Page, knowing this one here was gonna be a whole different experience!!! Fun to watch your reaction!
@@watchbizmatik on my other channel 420 Express I have a video called Essential Classic rock Vinyl Records where I show my record collection including this one
Warm greetings from San Diego BizMatik, I just Subscribed.😊 As I've always said about Seger, he's an extraordinary storyteller through his music. You can't go wrong with Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, so many gems in their collection of songs. Although it's a short song, you ought to take a listen to "Main Street".
The Travelin' Man + Beautiful Loser medley from Live Bullet could be next. Or... Hollywood Nights (crunchy) Like a Rock (strong) Roll Me Away (anthemic) Against the Wind (profound) Katmandu (rockin') We've Got Tonight (heartbreaking) You'll Accomp'ny Me (love song) Her Strut (kickin') Feel Like a Number (spirited) Fire Down Below (nasty!) Shakedown (bouncy) Old Time Rock and Roll (pop) Shame On the Moon (cowboy) Nutbush City (cover of Tina Turner) Ramblin' Gamblin' Man (stompin) Fire Lake (with help from The Eagles) Jody Girl (well loved) Understanding (mellow) Famous Final Scene (sad) Shinin’ Brightly (optimistic) Get Out of Denver (ol' timey) Even Now (unmistakable) Rock and Roll Never Forgets (tribute) Still the Same (observant) Horizontal Bop (infectious) American Storm (tense) Sunspot Baby (honkytonk) 2+2 (60s protest) Heavy Music (screamin) Midnight Rider (cranked up Allman Bros cover) If I Was a Carpenter(nice) Lucifer (hard driving) Sunburst (thoughtful) Betty Lou's Getting Out Tonight (raunchy) The Fire Inside (soulful) Making Thunderbirds (honest) Living Inside My Heart (romantic) C’est La Vie (fun) Till It Shines (hopeful)
@@watchbizmatik I started by just requesting MY favorite Seger songs on reactor channels. I’d always get replies that I had forgotten someones favorite song. So I just kept adding to the list. 🤔 Uncle Bob has a lot of fans. And it appears every one of them has a different favorite song. 😂 The 2 song medley at the top of the list are most often requested. Both “Travelin Man” and “Beautiful Loser” reflect Bob’s skill in using a few words to paint a vivid picture. And the bridge between the two from the live performance highlight the skills of the Silver Bullet Band. I strongly recommend that. Otherwise, look at the adjectives, and see what sounds ok for you. Guaranteed someone will say Seger has better songs, but also guaranteed you be doing someone’s favorite. Thanks for reading and responding to my list. ✌🏽
New sub here, really like your reactions to the great music that I grew up on. Can I please request Shame On The Moon by Bob Seger? Would really appreciate it. You help brighten the days. Thank you
I rate Katmandu as rockin’ and one of the great stutter songs. “Nutbush City” is a cover of Tina Turner’s song, but Bob does it very, very well. I don’t think they ever sang it together. And that would have been killer. Especially live.
The silver bullet band didn't think it was fun. They couldn't play this song nowhere near as good as the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section did on the recording. That caused a lot of disappointed fans who expected to hear the greatness that could only come from the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section but they stopped touring in 1974 when they returned to Studio work after two tours with Steve Winwood and Traffic.
If you've never heard KISS (1970s also to present) they have A BUNCH of classic songs!! KISS ALIVE II ( album)- "Detroit Rock City", "Shock me", "Love Gun", "Beth" ( studio verision is best). BTW Keep up the great Vids even if you don't do any of these! ;-)
Oh man you brought back some tunes I used in my panty-dropping arsenal of music in cool-ass 69 390 GTA Torino Fastback, cruising while groovin’ on the way to secluded make-out spots. Our hearts were beating fast in anticipation.
@@starsnightly8769 Take away my inhibitions Take away my solitude Fire me up with your resistance Put me in the mood Storm the walls around this prison Leave the inmates, free the guards Deal me up another future From some brand new deck of cards Take the chip off of my shoulder Smooth out all the lines Take me out among the rustling pines 'Til it shines Like an echo down a canyon Never coming back as clear Lately I just judge the distance Not the words I hear I've been too long on these islands I've been far too long alone I've been too long without summer In this winter home Still, if we can make the effort If we take the time Maybe we can leave this much behind 'Til it shines See the rich man lost and lonely Watch him as he dines Sitting there just testing all the wines 'Til it shines
I know you don't like live shows BUT the Album -Nine Tonight "tryin' to live my life without you" "Against the Wind" "Her Strut" "Feel like a number" are classics! His voice is just gritty & raw Live!
Biz, you’re hilarious, love your reviews. You’re definitely keeping us entertained, thanks. If you haven’t done it yet, my request is for Hollywood Nights. Janet from Louisiana ☮️🖤🤟
@@tbilly6201 Hey he turned into an old man sometime around 1980 when he cut his hair and broke my heart. But now that I’m an old crone, and have caught up with the old man, I’ll yell as loud as I need to.
Seger is from the D! He’s a real rock and roller. It’s his music that we dig. I grew up in Detroit. We always dug whatever music he put out. I’ve seen him in concert. He gives his all. He’s not a pimp. I know you’re joking but he’s just not like that.
Bob tellin you another story isn’t he ? ...with his Detroit soulful sounding self.........Yep- so again.....Travelin Man into Beautiful Loser, Live. Those 2 together live are sooooooo good. After that, I’m goin to Fire Lake. 🎼🎶🎸🎸🎸🎹🎶🎵🎤🎶🎶😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️
Papa is TCB , TAKING CARE A BUSSINESS. We wont play games or play the relationship . Its not always about sex . Its about having 1 man in your life that will have your back , and it eorks for a woman who isnt married . I.Y.K.Y.K. 😎
Just for a different perspective, you should check out the video of him performing this live and bringing all of the children of the band onstage and singing to them. It's great.
