I want to talk this morning about the doctrine of recapitulation. It is something we hear once in a while, I think, at this church. I don't think that it is a particularly controversial or sectarian doctrine. I have never heard of anyone arguing against it. But it is sometimes kind of ignored. I think that it is a helpful and useful doctrine in really helping us understand many other teachings that we believe and helping us understand our salvation better. A brief description of this doctrine; Christ is the second Adam who passed through all the stages of human life by sanctifying each in turn. As a result, just as Adam was the originator of a race, disobedient, and doomed to death so Christ can be regarded as inaugurating a new redeemed humanity...
