They literally can’t because of the college baseball and track seasons. There is a good amount of football players who do baseball or track in the spring, doing a football season during that takes that away which college athletic departments won’t want that. Secondly high school players would be graduating during the season which wouldn’t work for recruiting. Lastly a spring season would happen during spring break and summer break so that’s significantly a lot of students who go home and the universities won’t like that because most colleges attendance for football games comes from student tickets. Remember this is COLLEGE football, not a company. There are real kids getting their higher education.

They aren’t competing with the nfl because they play on Saturdays and the only Sunday and Monday they play on is before the nfl regular season
