I hope this drone helps you to get even more creative! After a 6months development phase it's great to see the final product and so happy how well it performs 🙏🤓
I am very happy for you Ellis, the work that went into this build wont go un-appreciated. I would be buying this TODAY if I didn't just purchase a Mavic 3 for other jobs. I will leave it on my wish list as this is exactly what I have been looking for with a BNF. Well done, I am sure this quad will sell fast.
Ahh jeez it still feels like yesterday when I started watching your videos unfortunately I still can't afford to fly I'll keep watching your videos until I can !!
just received mine 😍 for anyone wondering (as I couldn't find the information anywhere online), the dry weight - no props, no straps, no gopro mount - is about 496g, which I think is okay when compared to the Evoque F6D which is 465g dry. so not the lightest, but also offers a different, more robust frame and more space for large batteries and much more. and it looks fantastic, now I can't wait to go for some mountain cruising! @Ellis van Jason danke für de tuning überblick und all die arbet wod da dri gsteckt hesch 😇
Thank youu 😊 you observed very well! yes I added the full weight online as without props its not that relevant, as they make a big difference usually. Also important to state that this drone is quite different from evoque as you said which is basically the evoque 5 just with longer arms. Bob is specifically designed for 6inch and has a long body (which adds a bit more weight) but you can fit up to a 3000mah battery for long missions. Also all extra features add a bit of weight and we kept the arms a bit thicker for better stability and durability. There might he a light weight version at some point 😇☺️ glad you like it 🚀
@@EllisvanJason super happy with it so far! wasn't expecting proper tuning to make such a massive difference. I didn't have issues with my Evoque F6D, but when directly compared, the BOB57 flys so buttery smooth :D Also with a rather small 1550mah battery (and GoPro 10 without battery) I consistently get fantastic 8min flight times. And with a 4000mah LiIon it seems to be 17min+ but I need to do some more flights with that one. Couldn't have asked for more 🙌
I am thankful for this tune Ellis van Jason! Nice work. Bob57 is a great quad! Now even better with those custom settings you shared. Thank you so much. 🤙🏻
Hey Ellis. I just bought the o3 version. Im considering updating to bf 4.4. are there any changes that effect your tune? Do I need to change something on 4.4?
CADDX Vista? Why!!??? Should've used Air Unit so you have another option for video recording just in case you don't want to use GoPro if you're really saving weight and going for Long-Range flight
Another awesome video and well captured the amazing view with cool narration. I must say you have a great channel with variety of interesting videos keep going and all the best.
Hi Ellis, I recently purched the BOB57 and I have to say one thing first and formost: for what I want to do, which is cinametic, light acrobatic and long-range flying, this drone is perfect in almost every way. The drone just ticks all my boxes and really is everything I could ask for, given the price. I know that most people flying quads are using Betaflight. However, I would like to use it with INAV because of the various autonomous flight modes available. Hence, my question to you is: Because Betafligth and INAV PID settings are not computed the same, would you be able to share your PID settings that can be used in INAV?
excited for this. seemed to be just the thing i need as ive been having a hard time deciding between the evoque 5 and the chimera 7 quads. however im concened for the lack of reviews by other pro fpv pilots.
Well its more versatile than evoque or chimera. It has better compontents than evoque and much lighter than chimera. This BOB you can do long range but also agile stuff. There was a reason for this drone 😎 I use it now on my shoot as well
Since he didn't reply I'm going too. For the goggles is has a digital system so I would recommend the dji goggles v2 And for the controller it's up to you for example if u want a box controller or not and your budget. but for me I went for the jumper t pro elrs.
Awesome frame! 💯 I've been a huge fan of your channel! Other people have asked the same question: will the frame be sold separately? I already have some electronics to build a 6 inch but I'm looking for a good frame.
I totally get what you guys are saying. But see it that way, I made sure some good stuff is inside. Literally spend a couple of days to tune the quad perfectly. The props were optimised for this motor and the tune is for this FC, ESC, motor and prop. You would save more time and potentially money by buying the drone and doing a job instead of building the own and tune from scratch. I a usually a big fan of choosing my own parts and test a lot. On this drone I will change nothing as it just works. For electronics it has a 55Amps ESC (30x30) with spike absorber and 1000 microfarad capacitor. The motors are optimized for 6inch to give great efficiency and still power. At around 47% throttle with these props you get max efficiency. We might launch the frame at some point but we want to make sure that whoever order the drone has immerse flying experience and the easiest is to go with what is inside as this was tested over weeks :) I hope that helps a bit 🙏🤓
Will there be an analog version? If yes, I would be so happy, as I can’t afford digital. I want to chase Windsurfers with the drone, and it would be the perfect one for this task!
@@EllisvanJason I was wondering the same thing. It wouldn't need much changed, just an analog camera and a TBS Unify Pro32 HV. Tune and everything else could be left unchanged. I like the project. I've been flying race drones since the beginning and I'd consider myself a pro, but I'm not having any more fun building and especially tuning them. So this would be great. Also I've felt for a long time, that 6" is the sweet spot. Earlier it was 5.5", but as GoPros got heavier it moved up to 6".
@@Blockbuster2033 I think that they are not going to put a TBS vtx on there because it’s their competition, even though iflight can’t produce vtx’s as good as tbs does. That is my opinion.
Hi Ellis, I don't know if you will reply but Will this come with spare arms, because the frame isn't avaliable for purchase and incase of a crash there are no spare arms.
Ellis love ya work mate can I ask I notice in the clip your using a F Stop pack as well I have the original Satori had it for years now great packs what's that one your using ? Wondering also I got a bob57 on its way does it fit in the medium icu ?
@@EllisvanJason ayyyeee my man!! Thanks dude, you have for sure inspired me with FPV, I feel that we both got engineering backgrounds so our creative paths must have similarities. Either way keep rocking dude 🤘🏽
Awesome drone Ellis. Per your recommendation, we used your PID Tunes on both BOBs and the flight are very cinematic. We are truly enjoying our new investment.
I am VERY ready to pick this quad up! But the Iflight store is still saying it is "preorder". If I Purchase it today, how long of a wait time am I looking at before I receive it in the mail?
Sorry, I saw that you have already answered this question. I'm thinking of taking them both) In case of a fall, I will have a spare drone) Good luck to you in Africa, I really want to visit there.
Is there room on it for a battery-powered buzzer where you can press a button to turn it off when disconnecting the battery? Can't find any images/video of it close-up or without TPU siding.
Ellis love the drone so far! I am a bit worried about doing a really long flight haha. I noticed in your course when you do long range flights you have two antennas, or one on the front. Can you get the same results with this antenna mounted on the back? Or would you recommend moving it to one of the arms or front? Thanks!
Hi Ellis, Thank you for your tunes Just have ne question about those PIDs, I mount a go pro on it and it changes a lot the way it flies. Do you have so recommandations to tune it better with go pro 11 on the quad ? thank you !
Not sure yet. I just read some blogs and watched videos on the protek35 as a pretty decent beginner drone. But then I watched this video on BOB57 and was really hyped😅
@@dominicbartschi6450 get your self a small 2”,3”4”5” to start small and which can crash. Unless you have logged some time on a simulator. For me I started on 2” and 3” and then went to 5” and larger. I actually think 5” is okay to start with if you have sim time. For me I have a controller which makes the sun impossible to use due to latency. So I just crashed a lot in the real world. Having something small and light means there is less of a chance you will break things, the quad, yourself or others. Once you know what you are doing and can disarm instinctively at the right time go to 6” and have some fun
Flying outdoors in large spaces is actual a lot easier than in tight places the room for error is much larger so maybe you could start with 6” as long as you are in a large area with space to crash and then the ability to walk in shame to get the quad. Have fun and I would say this quad looks really solid for a BNF.
I bought this drone recently and unfortunately I got a very annoying flickering in the gopro movies, now I adjusted through the ESC setup software by importing your parameters and I really hope it helps to solve the problem because unfortunately for now the images captured by the gopro are unusable 😔…
Hey Ellis, super Frame! Hane grad hüt becho und zämäbout. Darf i di fürs STL-File für single SMA-Antenna mount frage? I ha leider nur no chönnä d'O3 Version bsteuä und da isch leider kes single-SMA drbi.
@@EllisvanJason please brother 🙏🙏🙏 No analog cuts out more than 60 percent of your clients! Even JB couldn’t believe how many were on analog still when he did a survey earlier this year 👍 Please consider us, I’m not sure why we are even having to ask to be fair my friend 🤝
Hi, great, I don't speak English, I will use translator, would you know the difference between the bob 57 and the iflight nazgul evoque f6 since both are 6 inches?,,,, I have seen on the iflight website that the bob 57 comes with 2 antennas on according to the image they have there, thanks!!!!
I want to buy this drone but have a question 🤔 I currently own radiomaster tx16s mark ii elrs version if I buy this dron from iflight with the commando 8 2.4 ghz elrs version will it bind to my radio or do I have to do sum soldering?
@@EllisvanJason this one over Chimera7? Honest thoughts for cinematography? Wonder what cruising without throttle punches and extreme acro would be flight time wise for some dives on mountains on li-ions.
@@tomaszboril In my opinion yes. Chimera is much heavier and you loose agility. This drone is lighter & smaller but still optimized for LR & efficiency. I flew 9min on a 1800mah so with a 2500 or 4000liion you can fly so long. Also the tune is much better if you ask me and just more aerodynamic. You can directly power the gopro and save some weight. This is my opinion and I had the Chimera :)
Got to use it for the first time flying fpv and took a pretty bad crash in the desert and still all good👍 I didn't know the battery dies after it goes below 3.0v😭 also what is low rssi mean? It pops up on my goggles but Flys fine.
Have to upload a dump, can do that. Best is to go via screenshots which is less efficient but you can be sure that all the values are applied correctly 😎🤓
