Boba Demeter comes from a famous Russian Roma family of musicians that left Russia at the start of the 20th century. His branch of the family settled in France, where they befriended Django Reinhardt's family. They quickly adopted the swing and jazz music that Django Reinhardt popularized but also incorporate the music from their native Russia. Boba is one of the many phenomenal guitarists from the Demeter family.
