I live in England and am 14 I have caught 25 pike over 40 inches on bobbers. Love your videos muskies are a new species to me and love watching you throw giant lures never stop posting
Hell yeah! I've been getting into pike fishing as a means to fill the void when trout season closes here in Michigan. I use a similar technique, but I dont have a boat, so I target them in rivers. Caught my PB last fall, a FAT 38 incher that hit 17 lbs. Hoping for that 40 incher this fall!
Awesome pike video. Just have a question. I just started pike fishing with a bobber and I am using the same #5 hook as you but I have missed some of the hits. Not sure when to set hook cause sometimes they take alot of line out and sometimes the bobber goes down slowly and they don't pull much line out. Also, I am using 2 trolling rods with the levelwind reels and two rods with spinner reels. For the trolling rods, am I supposed to put the reel in free spool with the bait clicker on and let them take line out? Also on the spinner reel rods, do I leave bail open or closed when sitting in rod holder. Thanks
@@TodaysAngler I am using around a 4 inch bluegill or a 5 inch perch. Would you consider that a small bait? If so, if I have reel engaged, set hook as soon as pole bends or wait awile?
I have to ask. What pound leader are you using for float fishing pike? I’m really new to it and really want to try and catch one on my centerpin rod/reel
Robbie: Are those white sucker rods Shakespeare fiberglass rods? If so, I haven't seen one in years other than the old one I still have from when I was a kid. I like pike. Elf on a Ram mount instead of a shelf.
I shore fish for pike. I hook the minnow through the back right infront of it's dorsal fin. I had 4 huge bites today and missed every one of them. The bobber took off stopped then took off again so I set the hook but nothing. Still had the minnow. So I tried setting the next one later still nothing. I tried sooner and nothing. When am I supposed to set the hook?
@@keiranrooker7981 oh I'm sorry. I should have clarified. I wasn't using a circle hook. Just a normal single hook. Your second suggestion is possible but there were some pretty good size teeth marks in the minnow when I brought it back in. I've caught small pike and walleye on it before but missing all 4 bites has me scratching my head on what I did wrong. I'm going to try the circle hook see how that works. Thanks for the reply.
XDXD XDXD I don’t think that has anything to do with it we have a lot of private fisheries where EA have to test the water to make sure there suitable to open the pike are the same colour there pike look different all around the world bro
