This is actually what I'm used to from Bobby. His first Album was really weird to me in the beginning because it was neither like the solo stuff he did before or the MOBB Stuff.
Honestly rather than taken aback or anything i was really proud of him. Yeah sure we did all expected hardcore smtm stuff but instead he prove his versatility as a musician, artist, rapper, composer, and producer for his debut album with his Love and Fall. He filled me with pride. Isn't it more of a pleasant surprise ? And LAF quality and playability is timeless, i still jammed to it even 3 years has passed.
Yeah, that first album threw everyone for a loop, though this album seems more like what people were expecting. I remember in an interview Bobby said he did Love and Fall to show people he could do more than just the hard stuff. 😊
This song is crazy. It’s in your face aggressive and not an easy listen type of song but it’s totally my vibe. The chorus is my favorite part. Line of the year; Why u mad, son? Haha
Funny is that when love and fall came out we were expecting this bobby but soft bobby came out! Im not complaining tho lol but yeah hardcore bobby is back!!!
ahhhh when you check out the album keep in mind that it's like a story divided by the skits: in the first part he's a playboy going at parties, in the second he meets this girl he likes and falls in love, in the third he finds out she has another man and is hurt and the fourth part is acceptance !! by doing all this he shows a lot of versatility, so it's almost impossible for someone not to vibe with AT LEAST one song 🥰
Bobby wanted to show his versatility because he has only been doing sstrong Hip-Hop as solo before LAF but also Bobby said YG kept blocking and rejecting his hardcore music. YG probably wanted a more public-friendly song and yet released 'I Love You', a summer song, in Autumn 🙄 (Nothing new. YG always fucks up iKON's promotions one way or another. It's extremely frustrating. iKON already does almost everything on their own. Literally beat YG Entertainment and other companies to win Producer of the Year by themselves. The only artist to do that in history. Crazy, right? iKON work so hard. They deserve better.) Same case now, Bobby worked so hard creating another masterpiece album but YG can't even give him 24 hours before promoting Rosé comeback. This is why most iKONICS don't like YG's management. You should watch Bobby's SMTM performances YGGR, GO, Bounce. Bobby's showmanship and stage presence is on another level. He was only an 18 y.o. trainee at that time where he changed both the KHH & KPOP industry. That is why U MAD is such a delight for us SMTM Bobby fans. And I love that we get to have the different facets of Bobby in his new album. It's fantastic and so him.
whole albums sooo good and diverse. we got hiphop rapper bobby, vocalist bobby. he goes hard and then he goes soft. Its a mix of smtm bobby, laf bobby, iKON bobby all in one album 😂 the title track is the "loudest" for the lack of any better term and he said he considered things in choosing a title track as much he loves all the tracks. he was hands on on choosing the order of the songs too.
they actually did the same thing with Mino's solo when he dropped his album too. When he came back with "Fiance" his title song, yg also dropped Jennie's solo song "SOLO" at the same time. I'm not sure if the reason is because having two of their artist promoting at the same time will attract attention for both artists and the company or what, but BP is the more popular artist within the company so they can easily overshadow the others. Hopefully, they promote both of them well.
regarding the album as a whole, this is what bobby said: “most important aspect was a storyline people can relate with. when I played all the tracks, I focused on what I was curious about next, so I paid a lot of attention on arranging the tracklist and the lyrics”

I honestly loved everything about Love and Fall except I felt that it was released at a time when iKon was busy doing tours so it wasn't promoted properly. This time round is a VERY good time for Bobby to release bc iKon hasn't released anything for the past few years.
Bobby went through a lot in the previous 2 years ( he lost his best friend B.I the leader of ikon, his company had many problems, n ikon were surrounded by a lot of rumors and hate.... ), so all the anger he felt at those moments, he expressed them in this song, the lyrics can say how angry he was how sad he was how disgusted he felt from the people causing them problems.... The beat the way he rapped is all about anger, for us ikonic ( fandom name) we always wanted him to say something about what happened we really went through hard times but they kept them silent till today he spoke up his mind finallyyyy, so yeah we're like breathing after a long way of depression.
The Lyrics are REALLY COOL... Especially this "Don’t ever tryna fight my crew Or even tryna wanna be my team" and this "Before I call the Police,, shut your mouth and go to the toilet" 😎👍🏻😎
This side of Bobby is what I love the most abt him!! LaF album was a masterpiece but LUCKY MAN is just another league on his own. His rap skills, his flow and his versatility as an artist never dissapoints. So proud of him. Also yass, not everyone likes this type of aggresiveness of the song and the flow of his rap here and it's ok. That's Bobby for youu, he can give songs that is to your taste or to others' taste. Shows how creatice he is with his craft, personally this is my style since my fav Bobby song is HOLLUP this album is heaven for me ahhhh 💕
I personally loved the song but now that you point it out I can see how the chorus can get a bit grating. I think you are going to enjoy the album though, it really shows bobby's versatility and artistry.
About the album vibe and the timing, yes i agree with you, right after smtm everyone knew who bobby was and the hype was crazy but unfortunately his solo came out in 2017 with a soft style... people kinda forgot about him and things weren’t working out well for ikon that year. (personally I prefer the soft vibes from bobby tho)
As expected from bobby😍 Every song is fire in this album. Some people are still complaining about promotions but I think this comeback is getting at least better promotion than love and fall. I am an iKONIC but I can't understand why some fans are complaining about rose teaser. It’s a teaser not a whole mv. So how it’s going to affect on bobby's album? Since rose is going to perform her solo on the show, maybe that's why they dropped the teaser.🤔
I'm with you but a lot of people get upset over these kinds of things. I'm sure Bobby isn't sweating it. He just takes things as they come. He knows the fans will enjoy his music.

hey you really should watch the small interview bobby posted on iKON's youtube chanel. He kinda explains there that the album follows a storyline involving a playboy who meets a girl who is just like him etc.. Which explain the girlfriends line here and many others. It doesn't spoil the album listen, instead it helps to get in context and ready to listen to the songs with a slight understanding of what he tried to express in this album.

I just hope yge gives bobby better promotion this time. It took 3 years for him to arrange this album and i honestly think this album is sooo good. totally get what you mean, the chorus is quite harsh sounding but honestly the first time I heard it I didn't like it at first (maybe with all the visuals it was too overwhelming) but now the more I listen to it the more i like it lol (and I usually HATE super harsh sounding instrumentals like this). But idk i think it's just Bobby's aggression is like channeling through me when I listen and just gets me super pumped haha
We all know that powerful kpop artists resides in YG and YG's job is to drop their artists' work however, a fan's job is to hype their idol's music. I don't see any problem with it since iKON and Blackpink has both huge fandoms. If their music won't go well after it was released it is not the company's fault anymore, we failed as a fan. We failed to hype it up. It was already said last year that Bobby is up for comeback and Rosé's debut is around the corner both in 2021. They warned the fans. So promoting Bobby next to Treasure and Rosé after Bobby must not be put into an issue against the company tho. On the other hand, Bobby nailed it again! The King of Youth is back!
I listened to the whole album about 2 hours ago and all tracks are fire. Album’s a bop ! I just hope he’ll be able to promote properly and not forgotten because of Rosé’s solo debut.

Bobby rocked the chill vibe on his first album, but I am definitely hyped to see this aggressive Bobby again. I haven't listened to the full album yet (I want to listen to it when I get the chance to do a full listen through), but idk maybe I'm ahead of myself but I'm kinda wondering if it'll give Mino's XX vibes based off the album medley I heard. Being that while I love this title track, I feel like with Bobby's skills there's going to be a lot of killer tracks that will probably kinda top this title one, the same way I felt Mino's XX album was vs the title track FIance (the XX album has got to be one of my favorite kpop/khiphop albums ever, so I mean it in a good way to compare it to that). Eeee no matter what I'm just so crazy excited to see Bobby back!
I've watched another reaction from a korean couple and they breakdown some lyrics and the translation in the mv is a bit inaccurate. If u dig deeper with the lyrics, you'll get chills bc the lyrics was so hard. He didn't just wrote this because he lost in game and his friend ask him if he's crying (야 우냐 korean translation for U crying?) just like what he said. He definitely wrote this song to diss the certain individuals just like what the korean reactors said. He wrote this out of his madness resulting to lyrics became so hard.
