I drove to Las Vegas from New Mexico with my under age girlfriend for my 21rst. At exactly midnight, I walked up to the bar at Caesars (I had been planning it for years on where I wanted to be for my first cocktail) and ordered a margarita with salt. Bartender went and made it and brought it back. Never carded me, he just said, "$6". I said "I just turned 21 a couple minutes ago and this is my first drink." He said, "that's great. It's still $6." I was so confused because I had been told that they comp 99% of drinks in Vegas, so I figured I might get mine for free. This was back in 1994. My parents made a big deal out of turning 21 because they had a restaurant and I could finally serve alcohol and work all shifts. Wish I could be 21 again!
This is embarrassing but at the age of 18, I could down a fifth of tequila and nobody knew that I had been drinking. 5 years later, I have some blood work done and my liver enzymes were still abnormal.
