Mr Caldwell is wrong; it was not 1979, it was 1978. This song saved my life. i was living in the ghetto with my mom and siblings. and contrary to popular belief, ghetto life was wonderful. the only danger i faced came from the inside: i started my period that year and my mother's jobless boyfriend decided he wanted my soul. this song was so important as it helped me to escape and keep dreaming of a different life and my own place. i was changed and sad and felt really dirty on the inside all the time but evil did not defeat me, thanks to Mr Caldwell and others on the radio.

@undergrace1808 2 года назад
No he’s just white with soul.i only say that because white ppl aren’t allowed to say “blacks act white, or sound white, “ or anything of the like, because it falls under their new term “micro aggressions,” which I find to only works one way.

I am French, white and a great lover of soul, neosoul, rnb. When I was 20, I first experienced the Tupac cover. And some time later I came across this gentleman! I'm impressed, this song is timeless!! What a pleasure to listen to it again and again! Respect to this gentleman
