He just has one of THOSE voices 😍 I swear I absolutely love this rendition I keep coming back to this video to hear it. I hope they make a cast recording . I’m not surprised though Bobby was amazing in A Bronx tale as well.
I just saw the show yesterday and this song was definitely my favorite, along with not getting married today! Bobby’s voice was incredible 😍 and the set during the song was so cool!
I'm actually working on this tune for a show I'm doing... I've watched loads of amazing ladies doing it but wanted to get a man's perspective... and Bobby has done just that! If I can do it half as well as this lad I'll be happy. I'm going to go to New York from London soon and intend to see "Company" and tell this fella just how awesome he is and how he's inspired me. Great job mate! x
My concern with switching genders on Company was a gimmick, but this proves me wrong. "Another Hundred People" works beautifully interpreted by a frustrated and possibly troubled young man. This may be the best acted version of the song I've ever seen.
Plus Booby being a woman just makes so much sense! Societally, women are pressured to get married at a certain age much more than men and seeing that struggle for a female protagonist works soooo well! It’s a truly wonderful production :)
I like his version better than the one from the guy originating the london revival. But overall I prefer this song sung by a more idealistic artsy hippy female character than the new douchy self-centered male character. Anika Noni Rose is my favorite.
There s more to interpreting a Sondheim track than prancing around trying to hold a mic in a cool manner and thinking you look like the bees knees . Dont mind its being sung by a man at all … but not this dude he ‘s awful
LMAO. That's the point. He plays the role in the new gender bent revival in which his character literally does think he's the "bee knees." He's a narcissist in this version and is supposed to look and sound like a douche
Terrible phraseology of this brilliant Sondheim song , with one or two really bum notes thrown in , to further disappoint . This guy doesn’t do this song any justice at all . I dont think he understands the music
You do realise Sondheim himself was in rehearsals coaching these actors before they opened and before his passing? I’m sure if he didn’t like something, he would’ve changed it. Different Company, different time period, different people, different story.
I thought it was pretty good for a live concert version. You have to see the revival to really understand why it sounds the way it does. In this new version he is supposed to be running around in the streets of new york instead of just standing there still like the older versions. So it's more aggressive and breathy.
