In tournament book Tal commented the game and said that he „forgot to play 6. ...a6“ and instead played 6. ...Nf6?? immidiatelly. He went to a walk between tabels, so when he saw 7. Ndb5 on a demonstration table, „he thought 'what a sacrfifice?!' He also wrote that instead of ...Bc5 the best chance for black was ...Ng8!?? He certainly wasn't intoxicated, at the time hw didn't start to drink heavily. It began only after this tournament, when he first noticed health issues. Probably delibaret poisining by Botvinnik's entourage, which sent agents in „friendly Yugoslavia“. Poisoned by chance or deliberately (two birds with one stone) Fischer coincidentally got severely sick during the tournament, and even was hospitalized due suspicion on appendicitis. But refused aa surgery and left the hospital on his own risk. After this failed assassination Tal becamedepressed and start with drinking. Ironically, Botvinnik thus helped Tal win the tournament, since hadn't Fischer been ill, he wouldn't have made so many draws against weaker opponents in the midst of the tournaments.
