Bobby Heenan ( The Brain). His responses were so quick and funny. He could come up with a brilliant answer 100% of the time, that's why he is the Brain. He and Monsoon were great together too. They probably have a show in heaven. R.l.P. to two giants, who made wrestling popular back in the day.
announcer on putski: "he's strong." heenan: "yeah, especially this time of year." . . . . LOLOL . . . putski was known to have horrible body order . . . heenan never misses an opening!
Bobby heenan could have done anything in the entertainment business, but he loved wrestling. No one is watching Carson, but everyone comes and pays a visit to the brain.
They didn't call him The Brain just because it sounded cool. Piper, who I consider to be the second best talker ever in the business (only behind Bobby) had always sung Heenan's praises as being sharper, smarter & more quick witted than anyone he'd ever seen, and I couldn't agree more.
Freddie Miller was a good promo man, remember him from the NWA, and briefly working for Vince Jr., always loved his signature "Don't miss it...BEEE THERE"
OMFG! The interviewer worked hard to not crack up at the "especially this time of year" one-liner. He bit his tongue and turned away from the camera too! Classic and vintage Heenan! The Brain is truly missed! Imagine if he had a podcast??? !!!!!
Glad to see Master Gee George Wells receive a tribute in this. Especially in regards to working The Cow Palace in San Francisco. Wells made a name for himself as a Bay Area star and he captured The NWA San Francisco U.S. Championship before coming to The WWF. So very smart booking to have a popular local guy with a fine resume there appear on the card when The WWF visited San Fran!B.W.
wow I didnt evern know that Freddy Miller did any WWF work. I remember him dong the dates for GCW during the Crockett era , but had no idea he was doing west coast promos for WWF. I live on the east coast.
Bobby Heenan is a God. George Wells went on to WM2 to lose to Jake Roberts thanks to Heenan Bobby gave George that extra push to last in WWF in those days. Great Jobber
