watched Bobby Jones career after he was traded to Philly for McGinnis after Big Mac played poorly in the 77 finals and everyone knows that BJones was a relentless defender but he was way more than that, he filled the break like a racehorse and his jumper was money, 54% career, he was the first ever 6th man of the year award recipient in 83, he is a HOFer, he did the things that won games
Probably the best weak-side defender I've ever seen. He cleaned up a ton of his teammate's mistakes. And he was an absolute menace flying in from the wing on a fast break because he could elevate and finish so well.
Bobby Jones was a helluva player. He was completely unselfish, ambidextrous, could jump, and play dogged defense. He was teammates of both David(Skywalker)Thompson with Denver and Julius (Dr.J) Erving with Philly.how cool is that? Jones said Thompson could jump higher than Dr.J but that Doc could basically hang and float all day. I think Jones had a faulty heart, but there was no shortage of heart with the effort he put out on a nightly basis.
