To me, in remembrance, and as a boy holding my Dad’s hand at 7 years of age, Sir Bobby Robson is and will always be held in the regard of being THE Godfather of British football. I’m now 49, going on 50 next year and a true blue ITFC fan and such memories that I had then will never be replicated by the team I support. I have as well a close affinity to Newcastle United, in a ‘second team’ sense but Sir Bobby brought so much to Ipswich Town Football Club. I hold dear the MS running jerseys which he signed, having one as I do, with when I ran the Great North Run. I was a lucky young boy and fan to experience ‘the glory days’ and proud to have seen how football can be played.
