One thing that's very impressive about this man that the uninitiated may not recognize is that it often looks like he's going very, very fast when his student is holding still, which they are. That is isn't to exaggerate the movement, to make him look so fast against a nonmoving target. It's a demonstration of the momentum and control of the strike as intended, for those around to see without the problem of the other combatant flinching or blurring up the movement. The most important part though is to see the absolute control this Master has with this style of teaching. When you can demonstrate a powerful technique at nearly full speed, while inches away, and not bumble into your target, overreach, that's such a powerful thing.

@@angelomike9591 😂😂😂😂 No. I'm talking MMA and self defense. I'm sure you haven't done that either. Stop with the bullshit theatrics you learned watching this video. I'm talking about actual practical fighting in everyday situations. I highly doubt most people will have the time or money to dedicate to this particular art my friend. But MMA and self defense classes are more accessible to everyone and it's been tested and tried over and over, it works.

I like how he just laughed it off whenever he gets disarmed by his own technique. His speed is unreal.

Being a filipino i learned this the hardest way, normal my friends and i went to the river and start training using this method of martial arts. The river helps to train our foot work because when your on the water you move slower and you will push yourself to move faster. I love arnis there's a lot of movements involved and mind control. You gotta be focused and fast learner so that you will learn the movement of your opponent, and be ready to attack with full speed.

though it's demo, the swings and counter swings are real. .no flowery and superficial moves. .gm taboada is the delta force and sas combined of stick fighting. .simple, direct, economical yet deadly. .once the art is internalized the motions becomes fluid and non mechanical. .it could only learned through long years of training. .
