I used to shake my head and laugh at players who wore sliding gloves... Well, I did that until my son slid headfirst on a play at the plate. The catcher jumped into the air and his foot came down on the back of my son's hand. He ended up with a bone bruise and 3 stitches (could have been worse). Missed 14-days...can't remember how many games he missed. Anyway... he uses a sliding glove on occasion and I don't say a word.
That’s how baseball used to be played. Tony Gwynn made a career out of moving runners up like that. With less than 2 outs that runner on 3rd should be scored easily. But todays game is different and more often than not he gets left stranded.
@@davidforbes4392 it’s because everyone wants to gamble for more runs rather than sacrifice an out to take the 1. It’s kinda like kicking a FG from the 1 yard line
@@brendonbuffaloe8830 It's because bunting reduces your expected runs per inning significantly. Unless it's the winning run, giving up an out for a base is usually a net negative
It's also a play you see all the time in baseball. No idea why OP thinks this is some sort of special play... yes, we get it, some players in the MLB are faster than others... lol This guy is no faster than any other "fast" runner in the MLB, new baseball fans don't understand this though, it's comically sad
Base pads? 🤦♂️ did you just start watching baseball and decide to make a channel? Also he went from 1st to third on a base hit.... everyday stuff here, no clue why this I even posted.
He’s struggling with the slider, but it’s dropping more than it has in the history of the game. MLB pitching is tough. He’ll come around. I’m glad he’s on my favorite team.
he got an infield hit on a huge hop... pretty normal for someone with speed... went from first to third on a slowly and well placed ball that rolled to the outfield... and then scored on an infield huge hop grounder.... i really don't see why this video is up... lol.. this happens with almost every leadoff hitter/shortstop every other game... but i do like that his dad was Bobby Witt who was a fairly good pitcher
I like how everyone has already given Witt the ROY award. If you double his batting average and add 50 you will be close to Jeremy Peña’s current average
Dude I don't know what your logic is with Bobby Witt but it ain't nothing buzzard brain. Are you kidding me? Thats just baseball dude. Stop makeing videos that make no sense what so ever.
That's an easy first to third for most players, especially with a decent jump. The ball slowly rolled to the outfield. . . Definitely a little exaggeration, but nonetheless less the dude is fast.
