That's a big healthy looking Bobcat. For their size they are simply one bad ass Cat, with attitude. The Cougar said, meh, not that Hungry, hell no..!!😀
That's because he knows that a Bobcat can cause him serious injury. They will never risk injury unless it's for food. He may be bigger and stronger but he's not stupid. Bobcats are very powerful .
@@STHFGDBY yup. The mountain lion can kill the bob cat easy enough, but there’s a risk of a wound bad enough that infection can happen. And that would be lethal.
Cats often prefer to kill competitor predators by stalking them like prey and avoiding a fight altogether. The cougars knows it could easily take a claw to the eye in the process of eliminating that competitor. Itd probably be a different outcome if the bobcat didn't see the cougar coming.
Well we have to remember , when encounters like this happen usually the upper predator would win easily , they just take injury into consideration an change their mind
Idk. I'd say cougars look more giant housecat than a lion. And they're closer in size to a housecat than a lion. Bobcat just looks like a bigger housecat with long legs and no tail. Cougar looks like a giant housecat... Or at least in between a lion and a housecat.
Great footage! That's a healthy Bobcat! I love these big cats, so I'm glad they didn't fight. They can't afford to squabble amongst themselves. Everyone, please educate yourself about these beautiful predators or one day they'll be gone.
The bobcat is much smaller than a cougar, but the bobcat is stronger pound for pound than a cougar, and the bite of bobcat just as powerful as that of cougar I think!
@R exactly. We've all seen the cougar vs lynx vid where the cougar probably mistaken the kynx for a hare and charged it onky to get knocked down. If it knew it was a lynx it probably wouldn't even approach it.
Another video is love and friendship between a bobcat named Max and Cougar Misha....rest in peace Max... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tZom8ZiIYfk.html
The cougar is 1 of my top 3 favorite animals but im sorry, its only a step above the cheetah. A leopard, jaguar, lion or tiger would have killed that bobcat. Tigers, lions and leopards dont engage in useless altercations but they strictly dont tolerate the presence of other wildcats. Lions and leopards in Africa will kill any cat (or predator in general) that is smaller then themselves. Cougars are just a slightly more impressive version of a cheetah. Their a little bit bigger and stronger but they too are just shy and not as aggressive, just like the cheetah. In africa, a lion or leopard would have killed the boncat outright, but this cougar is cautious and doesnt even engage with it.
