My girlfriends skid steer was in need of some machining and fabricating work to repair previous damage and excessive wear on the loader arms and bushings. I had the machine shop clean up the holes in the quick attach plate and make new bushings. Then a friend of mine did the welding and fabricating work on the loader arms.

I did a video on removing Bobcat attachment plate. And, Ran across your video and had to watch it. I just focused on the attachment plate. You did a good job. Nice video friend 👍🇺🇸

Remove the grease fittings on the table taper pin joint. Makes the pin drive out easily.

About to do this same job on my t190. Been contemplating on getting a whole new bob tach plate.

Justin Walker I’m not sure what a whole new plate would cost but the machine shop only charged me $260 for the work he did on the plate and that included the 3 sets of bushings he made for me

How did you tighten the lower tapered pin bolt after finishing installing it? I can get it semi tight but not tight enough.. it just seems to spin inside
@ericbrinson9741
@ericbrinson9741 Год назад
I think I just got lucky and they seated well and I was able to get them tight. Try cleaned the tapered part of the pin, as well as the tapered hole. That might help it grip instead of spinning. Also make sure the threads are clean on the bolt and the pin so it they thread together easily. Not the best design eh, not really any way to hold it

How did the welding shop align the new bushings in the lift arms so they were perfectly coplanar?
@ericbrinson9741
@ericbrinson9741 3 года назад
A lot of measuring, then they tacked everything together, put the quick attach plate on and took more measurements to check everything. Then they put the bucket back on and made sure it sat perfectly flat on the floor and made sure it moved through its range of motion properly, took some more measurements to check everything again, and then welded everything solid

What is the number of hours, is it the fist time to repair ? Sorry i’m french...🤝🤝

Devrider44 around 4000 hours. Not sure if they had been replaced before or not, had only owned it for a couple months at that point and they were worn out when my girlfriend bought it. I have a couple other videos of this skid steer too.

@@ericbrinson9741 I wondered what that cost as well. I just replaced the wedges and all related parts for $140 through an aftermarket company online. I could have just replaced the wedge pivots which were the parts that failed left and right, but I figured I'd do all the moving bits. It took longer to get the parts out of the packaging then it did to remove and replace them on the machine. My bobtach plate is working great again. Your video has me convinced that when my bushings are getting sloppy that I can fix it.

what year is it and how many hours? about how much is a unit that old? thanks.
@ericbrinson9741
@ericbrinson9741 3 года назад
It’s a 2007 with roughly 4500 hours. For a unit that age you’d be around $25,000

@@ericbrinson9741 my set up is the same as yours. I'm just not clear on when you used your extension to hammer out the pin, did it not knock out the bushing as well?
@brendanwandzura1945
@brendanwandzura1945 3 года назад
Or the bushing is only within the plate? Your modified extension is only knocking out the pin?

Ok I had to re watch it to refresh my memory but the side that was worn the worst didn’t have a bushing in it, either it was completely worn out or just plain didn’t have one. The other side looks like there was a bushing but I didn’t take it out, the machine shop did. If your bushings are stuck in there you could run a bead of weld all the way around it and that might allow you to pull it out with something. Or try and weld a smaller bolt to one side of the bushing so you can grab on it with pliers and be able to pull on it. I’ve put a bead of weld on bearing races in trailer hubs and was then able to drive them out so I’m guessing the same idea would work for this. The heat from welding kinda breaks it free enough to get out. Just not a handy spot to work since you can’t get at it from the back side
